This study has established and calibrated a three-dimensional system model with a combination of hydraulics-waves and suspended sediment transport with measured data in the study area. Based on the calculated scenarios for the flood and the dry seasons, the results show the occurrence of MTZs in the riparian zone of the Mekong river with typical suspended sediment concentrations (SSC) ranging from 0.04–1.0 kg/m3 dry season and 0.2–1.1 kg/m3 flood season.

In the study "Swash model approach for flows induced by low-frequency waves over wooden fences" the low-frequency wave, which is considered the main contribution to flows, is focused on assessing the possibility of sediment transports through the wooden fence. This study applies the SWASH model developed by Delft University of Technology to carry out a couple of wave scenarios for the southeast and northeast monsoons that were inherited from a previous study.

This study was carried out to analyze and evaluate the change in the amount of suspended sediment on the Tien River in the Mekong Delta. Evaluating the sediment transport regime is a very important task to effectively serve the assessment of the level of evolution (erosion/accumulation) on the riverbed.

The coastal current plays a vital role in the transportation of sediment near the shoreline, significantly impacting the distribution of sediment grain sizes and shoreline transformations. This study focuses on examining the near-shore coastal current along the Soc Trang Province coast in Vietnam, considering the combined influences of waves, winds, and tides by utilizing a model in curvilinear coordinate system.

A riverbank failure model: A case study for the segment of Tien River flowing through Sadec, Vietnam
In the paper, we propose a mathematical model that combines bottom erosion and riverbank failure mechanisms. The model incorporates high-performance GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) to enhance its computational efficiency and capability. It utilizes a set of equations, such as the Reynolds equations, sediment transport equations, and bed load continuity equation, to simulate the dynamics of flow, sediment transport, and changes in the riverbed.

In this study, the three-dimensional Delft3D-PART model was applied to study micro-plastics transport in the Bach Dang estuary. Micro-plastics as data input for the model in this study were assessed by taking water samples by 80 μm mesh size plankton net, and sediment samples by Petersen grab.

This paper simulated the sediment load in different periods, including the period without influences of the reservoir, and the period after Hoa Binh, Thac Ba, and new reservoirs were constructed. Since then illustrated an overall view of the erosion, sediment transport in the lower Red River, and of aplliedusability the model to research for other river systems.

This paper presents the study and use of the ROMS-SWAN coupled model in the COAWST system to calculate the hydrodynamic field in Hai Phong at a primitive level. The calculation gives quite good results when compared with the measured data. The results of this study are the basis for the application of the COAWST model system to calculate sediment transport.

Analysis of ca. 1400 km of multichannel seismic data indicate that the distal part of the Sakarya Canyon within the continental rise is an unstable region with sediment erosion. Fourteen buried debris flows (DB1–DB14), in the stacked form within Plio–Quaternary sediments between 1400 and 1950 m water depth, were observed in the surveyed area. Their run-out distances range from 3.8 to 24.4 km. The largest debris flow DB10 affects ca. 225 km2 surficial area transporting ca. 15 km3 of sediment in S to N direction.

In the present study, an open-source coupled numerical model based on Delft3D source code was performed and applied to simulate the hydrodynamic changes due to the Super Typhoon Rammasun in the Gulf of Tonkin (GTK). The results indicated that the typhoon strongly affects the current, water level, wave fields, and suspended sediment transport in the western coastal areas of the GTK.

Numerical models that calculate bed change are becoming increasingly popular because of their longterm forecast projections and their ability to identify causes of bed change. However, the reliability of the simulation results depends on the length of the data series and the algorithms in the model, in which the boundary condition method plays a critical role. The aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the HYDIST model to update wet and dry fronts as well as recalculate the wet boundaries of the hydraulic model before its input into the sediment transport model.

Structures within rifting affect syn-rift depositional patterns by creating sites of uplift and erosion, by controlling pathways of sediment transportation, by the accommodation space for sediment deposition and preservation. These resulting from the growth of rifting may yield a tripartite stratigraphy such as fluvial, deep lacustrine and shallow lacustrine.

Soil erosion strongly affects crop yield, undermines the long term productivity of farm land and sustainability of farming system, and poses a major threat to the livelihood of the farmers and rural communities. The United Nations Environmental Program reported that the productivity of soil has reduced and resulting in economically unfeasible cultivation on about 20 million hectare of land each year due to soil erosion and resulting degradation of land.

There are three verification cases of the model: verification of the tide-induced current, the wave-induced current and the sediment transportation., The results from the model are good in accordance with the analytical solution. The model is then applied to the coastal zone of Can Gio mangrove forest and Cua Lap estuary (South East of Vietnam). As a result, the trend of sediment accretion and erosion in these two areas are qualitatively in agreement with satellite observation and practical measurement

A realistic new sediment–laden water prediction computer model was developed. In this model unsteady non-uniform flow computations were incorporated. Using this model, flooding flow–sediments were simulated and compared to earlier research including hydrologic engineering centre (HEC-series) computer models. Uncertain value of parameters and errors in flow–sediment transport equation in existing coupled flow–sediment models were studied.
