Mustards occupy an important place among oilseed species due to their considerable economic and nutritional value and multiple uses. This study made use of 77 mustard genotypes collected from the USDA gene bank and diverse ecologies of Turkey to determine the extent of morphologic variability among them. The genotypes were screened to select genotypes appropriate for use in mustard breeding programs during 2015–16 and 2016–17 under the Mediterranean rainfed conditions of Yenimahalle (spring sowing and autumn sowing) and Haymana (spring sowing).

We have previously developed a rice-based oral vaccine against cholera diarrhea, MucoRice-CTB. Using Agrobacterium-mediated co-transformation, we produced the selection marker–free MucoRice-CTB line 51A, which has three copies of the cholera toxin B subunit (CTB) gene and two copies of an RNAi cassette inserted into the rice genome.

Review study showed that CTPTR-CTW and ZTDSR-ZTW (RRRW) record the highest seed bank (SB) of grasses, sedges and BLWs as total weeds, in general; and predominant weeds i.e., Echinochloa spp., Ammania baccifera, Commelina benghalensis and Digitaria sanguinalis, in particular. It also showed the higher species richness (DMg) and Shannon–Weaver (H’) indices. CTDSRCTW and CTDSR-ZTW (RRR) show the lowest WSB and at par with Shannon–Weaver (H’) index; further, lowest species richness (DMg) under CTDSR-CTW.

Thirty four Plus Trees (PTs) of Azadirachta indica were screened based on the tree morphology and biochemical traits to identify the suitable source for high oil and azadirachtin contents in order to establish large scale industrial plantations. Significant was observed among 34 PTs for seed and biochemical traits. Maximum 100-seed weight (30.00g) and 100 kernel weight (12.00g) were recorded in NPT 7, while NPT 34 showed maximum oil content (42.81%) and maximum azadirachtin content was documented in NPT 11 (0.972%) followed by NPT 17 (0.970%).

Weed problems are very complex and serious in coffee plantations of North East Region of India because of favourable agro climatic situations for weed growth. The study on emergence and population dynamics of weeds will help to develop efficient weed management strategy. The present investigation was undertaken in eight districts of the Marathwada region of Maharashtra State (India) to study the socio-economic, psychological and situational causes of farmers’ suicide. Data was collected from the family members of the victims with the help of a specially designed interview schedule.
