The seed oil of Camellia ninhii was studied for the first time on its fatty acid composition by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and antioxidant activity by the DPPH method. The results show that unsaturated fatty acids account for the largest amount, especially oleic acid with 45.43% of the total sample analyzed.

Plants have the remarkable ability to generate callus, a pluripotent cell mass that acquires competence for subsequent tissue regeneration. Global chromatin remodeling is required for this cell fate transition, but how the process is regulated is not fully understood.

In the present work, the compositions of the 27 triacylglycerols (TAGs) as well as fatty acid composition of Chilopsis linearis seed oil were determined by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) with diode array and mass spectrometric detections. It was shown that the main conjugated acid in the seed oil is a catalpic acid, (9E,11E,13Z)-octadeca-9,11,13-trienoic acid, while two unusual fatty acids have the parameters satisfying the literature data for (10E,12E)-octadeca-10,12-dienoic and (9E,12E)-octadeca-9,12-dienoic acids.

Orchids produce a colorless protocorm by symbiosis with fungi upon seed germination. For mass production of orchids, the prevailing approaches are both generation of protocorm-like bodies (PLBs) from callus and multiplication of adventitious buds on inflorescence.

Phaius tankervilliae (L’Her.) Blume is one of the most attractive and horticulturally valuable ground orchids of the world. Due to illegal collection for trade and consumption and loss of habitat, the population of this species has decreased rapidly at an alarming rate in natural habitats. In vitro seed germination and seedling development of Phaius tankervilliae technique was successfully established...

The study revealed that more than two fifth (42.50%) of seed growers fall under high knowledge category, followed by medium (32.50%) and low knowledge (25.00%). The variables like education, farming experience, achievement motivation, management orientation and mass media participation were showed significant relationship with knowledge level of pigeonpea growers at 5 per cent level of probability. The R2 (0.672) value indicated that, the twelve independent variables put together, contributed a significant amount of variation (67.20%) in the overall knowledge level of pigeonpea seed growers.

In the present study, SDS-Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis was used to separate protein sub units of albumin and globulin under reducing conditions to study the induction or disappearance during inhibition of germination. The molecular masses of the albumin and globulin protein subunits were estimated in relation to the motilities of the standard molecular mass proteins (Bio-Rad). However the SDS PAGE resolution of seed albumin in Pusa vishal and K851 showed 9-13 band corresponding to 110-5.

An investigation was carried out with thirty six blackgram genotypes in rice fallow situation, to assess the variability, heritability and genetic advance for yield and yield attributing characters. The results revealed that high PCV and GCV for number of clusters per plant and high PCV coupled with moderate GCV for number of branches per plant and grain yield per plant exhibiting wider range of variability. Whereas, number of pods per plant and 100 seed weight recorded moderate variability.

Trichoderma harzianum parasitism on Meloidogyne incognita eggs and juveniles was examined in-vitro under Assam condition. M. incognita egg masses, their derived eggs and second-stage juveniles (J2) were parasitized by T. harzianum. The conidia of the T. harzianum were found inside of the eggs and attached to the J2s with the gelatinous matrix. The eggs were penetrated and parasitized by the hyphae of T. harzianum, while eggs containing juveniles were also parasitised by T. harzianum. Further, isolate T. harzainum was used for to know the bio-efficacy against M.

An experiment was conducted to study the bio-efficacy of native bioagent and biofertilizer for the management of root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita infecting black gram Vigna mungo. For this the bioagents, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus megaterium, Pochonia chlamydosporia and Purpureocillium lilacinum and biofertilizers like Azotobacter sp. and Rhizobium sp. were screened against M. incognita by using seed treatment under pot condition.

Plant hormones are signal molecules produced within the plant, and occur in extremely low concentrations. Phytohormones determine the formation of flowers, stems, leaves, shedding of leaves, and development and ripening of fruits. They shape the plant, affecting seed growth, time of flowering, sex of flowers, senescence of leaves and fruits. Hormones are vital for plant growth and lacking them, plants would be mostly a mass of undifferentiated cells. Plant growth regulators include auxins, gibberellins, cytokinins, ethylene, growth retardants and growth inhibitors.

In recent years, three-dimensional (3D) in vitro tumor models have become more common in cancer research across the world. Selecting scaffolds, seeding cells into the scaffolds, and culturing them are pivotal for the morphologies and proliferation of cancer cell lines. Therefore, this experience has developed a 3D tumor model based on co-culturing MCF-7 cells and fibroblasts (3:1) into gelatin-alginate scaffolds (3x3x5 mm3 ).

Mesua ferrea L. was evaluated for its germination, seedling growth and biomass across four seed size classes. The production of two- and three-seeded fruits was high. The viability of the seeds was 58-81%. Germination was positively correlated with seed weight. Heavier seeds showed early and rapid germination.

Seedling vigour, expressed in terms of shoot and root length, number of leaves, leaf area and dry matter yield, was significantly affected by seed mass. Seedlings that emerged from heavy seeds showed better growth and produced heavier seedlings as compared to intermediate- and light-weight seed categories.
