A field experiment was conducted during kharif 2015-16 and 2016-17 at the Regional Research Station (Old Alluvial Zone), Dakshin Dinajpur under Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya to study the effect of seed priming and foliar application of micronutrients on direct seeded upland rice (Oryza sativa L). The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design with nine treatment combinations comprising seed priming and foliar spray of micronutrients. Treatments were replicated thrice. Significantly highest yield (3667.03 kg ha-1 ) was recorded in seed priming with 2.2% CaCl2.

Worldwide salinity is the foremost soil environmental factor adversely affecting the seed germination, plant growth and yield. Recent studies shows that Lipo Chito Oligosaccharide (LCO-nod factors) as a unique molecule, which is responsible for abiotic stress tolerance. Hence a laboratory experiment was taken up with a sole objective of seed priming with LCO (4 ml/kg) on maize seedling growth which are exposed to different levels of salinity (0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 dS m-1 ) was laid out in a factorial completely randomized design with four replications.

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production is often affected due to micronutrient status in soil. Micronutrient deficiency in soil including Boron is very much prominent in India, due to prevalent environmental and soil conditions (viz., wide variation in soil pH, organic matter, salt stress, supply of micronutrients etc.) among the various methods of incorporating micronutrients into the soil system, seed treatment with seed priming and seed coating are attractive, easy cost effective and beneficial over the soil and foliar application.

Food security tops the Government agenda as production stagnates and prices continue to be high. Pulses on account of their vital role in nutritional security and soil ameliorative properties have been an integral part of sustainable agriculture since ages. Presently, the pulses are grown in 23 million hectares with 13–15 million tonnes of production in the country.

In the present investigation rice genotype HUR-105 was selected to see the effect of seed priming on yield attributes and grain quality of rice. Priming of seeds has been done with distilled water (hydro), Mg(NO3)2 salt (halo) and kinetin (T3), salicylic acid (hormonal) and different parameters, such as grains panicle-1 , test weight, harvest index, panicle number hill-1 , panicle length and amylose content were studied at different study periods with respect to two sowing conditions, representing timely and late sowing of rice crop.

In today's context of shrinking arable land and exploding human population, productivity of any commercial crop plays a major role. Though India is the largest producer of okra in the world, its productivity (11.9 MT/ha) is too low when compared to other countries. Several factors contribute towards high productivity viz. seed quality, management practices, fertiliser use, temperature, rainfall etc. but good quality seed is of prime importance. Only good quality seed can achieve true genetic potential of an improved cultivar.

Foxtail millet is an important nutri cereals which sustains well in adverse conditions like limited rainfall, poor soil fertility. It has capacity to withstand drought, adaptable to poor environment and input management. A field experiment was conducted at agriculture Research Station, Hagari during Kharif 2018-19 to know the influence of seed priming with chemicals, micro nutrients and bio-inoculants on growth and seed yield in Foxtail millet. In the present study the twelve priming treatments were used.
