A field experiment was conducted during rabi, 2013 at Department of Horticulture, UAS, GKVK, Bangalore to understand the influence of seed pelleting on seed yield and quality of french bean cv. Arka Anoop. Keeping in view the experiment is followed to know the outcome of the seed pelleting on seed yield and quality.

The genetic variability and heritability were carried out 66 genotypes of French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). A degree of variation was observed for structural and economic traits such as plant height, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and green pod yield per plant. High PCV was observed for pod weight, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant and green pod yield per plant. High GCV was observed for pod weight, number of seeds per plant and green pod yield per plant.

The present investigation was carried out during 2014-15 in Department of Horticulture, H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar (Garhwal) with the sole objective to find out the effect of integrated nutrient management on quality seed production of French bean genotype. Aim of the study is to observe the effect of different combinations of organic sources of nutrients viz., FYM, NPK, along with bio-fertilizer on different growth parameters, yield and profitability of French bean cultivar Contender.

An experiment entitled “Effect of priming on seed characters, disease incidence & yield in French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)” was conducted during Rabi 2018-19 in the Vegetable Research field, Department of Vegetable Science, College of Agriculture, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. The trial was conducted in Randomized Block Design with three replications and ten treatments.

The genetic analysis was carried in a 6x6 half diallel breeding programme of common bean for thirteen yield and yield attributing parameters. Both additive and non-additive genetic components were responsible in the genetic system controlling yield and its component characters. The additive (D) genetic variance was significant for Days to first flowering, Days to fifty per cent flowering, Days to maturity and pod length.
