  • Najas indica (Willd.) Cham. is a freshwater submerged aquatic vegetation. N. indica is an annual plant. Therefore, seeds in the sediment and the survival and growth of seedlings play an important role in reestablishing new populations of the species. The purpose of this study was to determine the seed density in the sediment, examine the effect of salinity on seedling germination from seeds, and assess the impact of the salinity on the growth of early seedlings of N. indica under the experimental condition.

  • A field experiment was conducted to evaluate optimum plant density and suitable G. hirsutum cotton genotype for high density planting system under rainfed condition. Plant growth parameters, seed cotton yield and economics of cotton genotypes under various high planting densities were studied during kharif, 2013-14 to 2015-16 on medium soil. Increase in plant density has reduced monopodial branches plant-1 whereas, number of bolls plant were increased with increase in density.

  • A Pots experiment was conducted for two years (2001-2002) to evaluate the response of different control practices on damping off disease of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) var. Novaday in Pots condition during Ph.D (Plant Pathology) in the Department of Plant Protection, Allahabad Agricultural Institute – Deemed University, Allahabad. The observations recorded at successive stages of plant growth were statistically analyzed for interpretation of results.

  • In this work, the hydrothermal growth of ZnO nanorods (NRs) on plastic PVC substrate is presented. It was shown that ZnO NRs with high density and high crystallinity can be successfully grown by implementing saturated nutrition solution of zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn[NO3]2·6H2O) and hexamethylenetetramine (C6H12N4) without the assistance of a seed layer. The morphologies of the ZnO nanorods investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) demonstrated hexagonal structures. The crystallinity of the ZnO NRs was studied by photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy.

  • A field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2014-15 to evaluate the Effect of High Density Planting System (HDPS) and Genotypes on growth parameters and Yield contributing traits in upland cotton at Cotton Research Unit, Dr. P.D.K.V., Akola. The experiment was laid out in FRBD design consisting of four factors of plant densities viz., 45 x 10, 60 x10, 75 x 10 and 60 x 15 cm2 in main plots and three factors of cotton varieties i.e., AKH-081, NH-615 and Suraj in sub plots with replicated thrice.

  • The nitrogen fertilizer dosage experiment was organized in summer 2016, including 4 levels of 100, 120, 140 and 160 kg N/ha. Other non-experimental elements were identical. The results showed that the highest yield and economic efficiency were for the treatments of 200 kg seed/ha with a nitrogen fertilizer dose of 140 kg N/ha.

  • Weed problems are very complex and serious in coffee plantations of North East Region of India because of favourable agro climatic situations for weed growth. The study on emergence and population dynamics of weeds will help to develop efficient weed management strategy. Therefore, the present investigation was undertaken for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017 at the Experimental Garden for Plantation Crops of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam with the objective to study the weed dynamics in rejuvenated robusa coffee.

  • A field experiment was carried out during kharif seasons of 2013-14 and 2014-15 at Research farm of AICRP for Dryland Agriculture, Dr. PDKV, Akola to study the growth and yield of cotton under weather variability, plant density and fertilizer regimes under rainfed condition. The experimental was laid out in split plot design with eighteen treatment combinations in three replications. The soil of experiment was Inceptisols clayey in texture having pH 8.1, organic carbon (0.54%), available nitrogen (187.3 kg ha-1), available phosphorus (14.8 kg ha-1) and available potassium (316.0 kg ha-1).
