The study "Biochar mitigates salt stress by regulating nutrient uptake and antioxidant activity, alleviating the oxidative stress and abscisic acid content in cabbage seedlings" was conducted as factorial completely randomized design with two factors; salinity levels (0 and 150 mM NaCl) and biochar doses (weighed at the rate of 0%, 2.5%, and 5% by soil weight). Growth parameters such as stem diameter, leaf area, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, shoot dry weight, and root dry weight of cabbage seedlings treated with 150 mM NaCl were lower than the control.

We derived a protein hydrolysate with rich content, which includes proteinogenic and nonproteinogenic amino acids, from chicken feathers by using an alkaline hydrolysis procedure with high yield success. After foliar application of aqueous solutions (0.05%, 0.075%, and 0.1%) of chicken feather protein hydrolysate (CFPH) to the seedlings of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. ‘Altındane’ and ‘Bezostaya’), their effects were evaluated on important physiological and biochemical parameters.

Transcriptomic insights into the molecular aspects of salt stress responses in Kandelia candel roots
The mangrove plant Kandelia candel is a type of woody halophyte that grows in tropical and subtropical ocean intertidal zones and exhibits a high salt tolerance. In this study, 61,970 unigenes were obtained from the roots of 60-day-old K. candel seedlings treated with 0 (control), 200, 400, and 600 mM NaCl for 3 days with an N50 of 1510 bp. Moreover, 454, 311, and 2663 genes were differentially expressed under 200, 400, and 600 mM NaCl treatments, respectively.

The rate of growth of seedling, the rate of increase of root, shoot, area of the first leaf and the dry weight of the crop plant was faster due to treatment of the seed with whey in comparison to the untreated control. Other parameters may also be incorporated such as increase in the number of cells and biochemical content of the cells, tissue and the whole plant accumulated or stored as a result of chain of synthetic process of which raw material are basically provided by the photosynthesis. Thus the photosynthesis is the key point to make available the raw material for the growth.

The present study on out planting performance of Ocimum basilicum in field plantation was undertaken to optimize the spacing required for achieving maximum yield and essential oil. Seeds collected locally were sown in a broadcast manner and transplanted later at seedling stage at different spacing viz., S1 (10 cm × 10 cm), S2 (10 cm × 20 cm), S3 (10 cm × 30 cm) and S4 (10 cm × 40 cm). The plant-microbe interaction effect of these bacteria, either singly or in combination, on growth and development of maize (Malviya Hybrid Maize 2) were also studied. The results reveal that the combination of BHU8 with RRE3 proved to be most beneficial and efficient with regards to many of the growth parameters like shoot and root length, number of leaves, shoot and root fresh weight, shoot, root dry weight and chlorophyll content.

Thirty one mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) genotypes were screened for drought tolerance under laboratory conditions in CRD using PEG 6000 at different concentrations of -0.3 MPa, -0.6MPa and -0.9MPa. The genotypes showed reduction in germination percentage and shoot length and increase in root length under water stress condition. Screening of genotypes based on single morphological parameter appears to be limiting due to inconsistency in growth responses of different seedling parts.
