Segregating generations of okra

The present investigation was carried out to the heterosis, inbreeding depression and residual heterosis for yield and yield attributing traits in segregating generations of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.). An experimental material comprised F2 and F3 segregation generation, two parents, F1 and one standard check (Parbhani kranti) were evaluated in a randomized block design with three replications during kharif 2017.

In order to detect gene action and epistatic effects for fruit yield and horticultural traits, 12 fixed lines, three testers and their 36 triple test cross families of okra were used in a randomized complete block design with three replications at the Experimental Farm, Department of Vegetable Science and Floriculture, CSKHPKV, Palampur (H.P.) during summer-rainy season, 2016-2018. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences among treatments.
