Microbial eukaryotes constitute a significant fraction of biodiversity and have recently gained more attention, but the recovery of high-quality metagenomic assembled eukaryotic genomes is limited by the current availability of tools. To help address this, we have developed EukCC, a tool for estimating the quality of eukaryotic genomes based on the automated dynamic selection of single copy marker gene sets.

The designed catalyst has shown an enzyme-like kinetics profile with a significant substrate affinity. The cooperative action in between catalytic triad amino acids has shown improved catalytic activity in comparison to only the histidine-containing control group. Histidine is an irreplaceable contributor to catalytic action and this is an additional reason for control group selection. This new method based on the self-assembly of covalently conjugated action units offers a new platform for enzyme investigations and their further applications.

Expression screening of environmental DNA (eDNA) libraries is a popular approach for the identification and characterization of novel microbial enzymes with promising biotechnological properties. In such “functional metagenomics” experiments, inserts, selected on the basis of activity assays, are sequenced with high throughput sequencing technologies. Assembly is followed by gene prediction, annotation and identification of candidate genes that are subsequently evaluated for biotechnological applications.

This paper presents a method in place of reducing surplus parts based on shifting the mean dimensional values and then grouping the mating parts based on their dimension tolerance and assembly characteristic. Examination case study of piston-cylinder assembly shows that by implementing this method, the percentage of surplus parts is reduced considerably (from 40.65% and 26.18% to 2.63%) and the clearance variation is minimized in comparison with the traditional ones. This method can be applied to manufacture and assemble products with high accuracy.

This paper is devoted to the cross-section processing scheme involving modified versions of TRANSX and CRSRD codes. Following this approach, the same data may be used in deterministic and stochastic codes. Moreover, using formerly developed and upgraded crosssection processing scheme, new MG libraries may be tailored to the user specific applications. For demonstration of the proposed cross-section processing scheme, the VVER-440 benchmark devoted to fuel assembly and pip-by-pin power distribution was selected.

Recent studies of transcription activator-like (TAL) effector domains fused to nucleases (TALENs) demonstrate enormous potential for genome editing. Effective design of TALENs requires a combination of selecting appropriate genetic features, finding pairs of binding sites based on a consensus sequence, and, in some cases, identifying endogenous restriction sites for downstream molecular genetic applications.
