Cluster bean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub] popularly known as “Guar” is an important legume crop mainly grown under rain fed condition in arid and semi-regions of Rajasthan during kharif season. It is very hardy and drought tolerant crop. Its deep penetrating roots enable the plant to utilize available moisture more efficiently and thus offer better scope for rain fed cropping. It has high calorific and nutritive value and its seed contains 28-32% of gum.

A prevalence study of PPR among small ruminants was conducted in five districts (Udaipur, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh and Banswara) of southern Rajasthan including both vaccinated and unvaccinated flocks of sheep and goats. The overall seroprevalence of PPR virus antibodies in vaccinated small ruminants is 42% with highest prevalence in Chittorgarh (54.95%) and lowest in Banswara (12%). In unvaccinated group, the overall seroprevalence is 42.18% with highest prevalence in Banswara (66.07%) and lowest prevalence in Udaipur district (19.04%).

Clusterbean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub], is a drought resilient leguminous crop grown on sandy soils of arid and semi-arid regions. Clusterbean is infected by several fungal, bacterial and viral diseases but Alternaria blight disease caused by Alternaria cucumerina var. cyamopsidis (Rang. and Rao) considered as one of the most devastating diseases in the guar growing areas of Rajasthan.

Good housing is one of the key to success in management. Housing always remains to be a significant challenge in health regulation of horses. Direction of the animal house determines the amount of sunlight, wind and humidity entering the house, which thereby exerts some influence on the health of the animal. This study was conducted to quantify the effect of north and south faced housing system on the physiological indices (heart rate, respiration rate, rectal temperature) of growing foals, during summer, (May-June 2017) with ambient temperature and relative humidity as factors.

The water availability is limited, however demand of water is increasing many fold due to expansion of agriculture, growing population, rapid industrialization and economic development in India. Available water resources need to be managed properly to meet increasing demands of water. In this study, different hydrological processes as surface runoff, evapotranspiration and soil moisture were modeled to assess the groundwater recharge in a small watershed located in semi-arid region of Rajasthan, India.

Haematological studies are usually conducted to study the normal and pathological aspects of blood and its elements. This study was conducted to quantify the effect of north and south faced housing system on the hematological indices of growing foals (n=12), during the summer (May-July 2017), taking ambient temperature, relative humidity and temperature-humidity index as factors in the semi-arid areas of Rajasthan.

Cactus (Opuntiaficus-indica), commonly known as prickly pear, belongs to the family Cactaceae. It has high water-use efficiency, drought tolerant, survive under erratic and low rainfall and highly useful in arid and semiarid environments, particularly during prolonged dry spells or failure of the monsoon. Cactus is considered as one of the important sources of food and fodder to cattle under arid condition.

The study had been carried out in the semi-arid region of India at Agronomy farm, S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan) during Kharif 2018. The insect pests, aphid (Aphis craccivora Koch) and leafhopper (Empoasca kerri Pruthi) were observed as major sucking insect pests infesting on groundnut crop. The aphid and leafhopper population commenced in the last week of July and reached to its peak in the second week of September, when the maximum temperature, minimum temperature, relative humidity and rainfall were 30.0 oC, 21.0 oC, 78% and 1.6 mm, respectively.
