Ebook "Highly luminescent lanthanide complexes with specific coordination structures" deals with strongly luminescent lanthanide complexes having novel coordination structures. Luminescent lanthanide complexes are promising candidates as active materials for EL devices, lasers, and bio-sensing applications. The organic ligands in lanthanide complexes control geometrical and vibrational frequency structures that are closely related to the luminescent properties.

Carbon dots (CDs) are zero dimensional carbonaceous nanomaterials showing tremendous physicochemical and optical properties, synthesized from any organic precursors rich in carbon content. Due to their greater biocompatibility, non-toxicity, and tiny particle size up to 10 nm, CDs have numerous applications in the field of nano-sensing, bio-imaging, solar energy, light-emitting devices, photo-catalysis etc.

The advancement of functional nanomaterials has promoted the development of biomarker sensors underpinning promising analytical tools for a range of bioanalytes such as cholesterol. In this work, we established a light-on fluorescent probe for cholesterol in human serum by coordination of H2O2 on the surface of praseodymia nanorods (Pr6O11 NRs).

Polythiophene (PTh) and polythiophene/molybdenum oxide nanocomposites (PTh/MoO3) were synthesized by an in-situ chemical oxidative method. The successful synthesis of both the materials was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

High order plasmonic types by integrating a novel heterogeneous plasmonic and flexible model based on the co-existence of Ag nanospheres (NSs) and Ag nanocubes (NCs) are introduced. The point-to-facet type in these hybrid shapes produces surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) signals many-fold larger than in single-plasmonic constructs.
