Sensitivity test Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Xem 1-14 trên 14 kết quả Sensitivity test Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • The study was carried out on 160 Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates. Samples had been cultured, identified and tested for sensitivity. A phenotypic test (Double disc synergy test) was applied on the collected MDR isolates for detection of MBL enzyme production. Conventional PCR was performed for the detection of the resistance gene(blaVIM). 100 isolates were multi-drug resistant according to (Modified Kirby Bauer disc diffusion method), with sensitivity to some drugs specially Amikacin (20%). Phenotypic test for MBL resulted in (38%) positive isolates and (62%) were negative ones.

  • The antimicrobial effect of hot and cold water extracts and infusions of herbs oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) and thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.), prepared in concentrations of 20%, was investigated using the classical agar-gel diffusion method. Pure cultures of 20 pathogenic strains were tested (by 4 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Enterococcus faecalis and Candida albicans). The highest antibacterial and antimycotic effect in vitro exhibited the infusions of both herbs, similar to that of the control broad-spectrum antibiotic thiamphenicol.

  • Broccoli is an edible green plant in the cabbage family and possesses antibacterial activity against wide range of bacterial pathogens. In the present study antibacterial activity of Broccoli extracts in Methanol and Distilled Water was evaluated against skin infection causing Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Antibiotic susceptibility test showed that 100% Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains were found to be sensitive to Meropenem followed by 40% to Cefixime. However, all the strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were resistant to Amoxyclav, Carbenicillin and Piperacillin each.

  • Burn wounds are highly susceptible to colonization and infection which creates obstacle in proper management of burn victims. Since burn wound infection shows changing trends in pathogenicity of microorganisms as well as their antibiotic sensitivity, hence, it is crucial to perform frequent evaluation of the burn wound to ensure early and appropriate therapy in burn patients. The study was conducted to find out the common organisms in infected burn wound samples and their antibiotic sensitivity pattern.

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa are associated with large number of identified infections. Rise in multidrug resistance among clinical isolates. A total of 342 specimens were collected from swabs (pus, blood, burn, exudate, tip and scalp specimen) and obtained during 12 months (January 2017- December 2017). The Majority of P. aeruginosa were isolated from swab specimens accounted217 (99%). The male to female were 241 (70%) to 101 (30%) respectively. P.

  • Honey is defined as a natural sweet substance which is produced from the floral nectar by honeybees. Honey is well-known for its antimicrobial activities and it has been reported to have antibacterial effect to about 60 species of bacteria and antifungal properties as well. Honey has been used to inhibit these bacteria as well as to prevent and treat skin and other infections. Honey as a tropical antibacterial agent for treatment of infected wounds. The natural ingredients of honey show different activities against various microorganisms.

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the commonly isolated gram negative bacillus from various clinical samples. It is a commensal in healthy individuals but can be opportunistic pathogen especially in hospitalised patients. It is intrinsically resistant to many antibiotics. Hence the present study was undertaken to study the prevalence and antibiotic sensitivity pattern in our hospital. Various clinical samples like pus, sputum, urine, vaginal swab, pleural fluid, ear swabs and tracheal aspirate received in the microbiology laboratory were included in the study.

  • One of the common causes of morbidity and mortality following burn injury is infections. The emergence of metallo-β-lactamase (MBL) in Gram negative bacilli (GNB) has reduced the available therapeutic options for effective treatment. Therefore, for screening of carbapenemase producers, a simple and inexpensive testing method is essential. To know the prevalence of MBL production in various gram negative isolates, to evaluate different phenotypic methods to detect MBL production and to find out antibiotic sensitivity profile of MBL producing gram negative bacilli.

  • Ear infections usually results from bacterial, fungal, viral infections. Ear infections are major health problem and occur with a high incidence and prevalence in both developed and developing countries which leads to deafness and intra-cranial complications. It may be acute, chronic or recurrent. It can be suppurative or non-suppurative. The Aim of study is to determine Bacterial and Mycological profile and their antimicrobial sensitivity pattern of Ear Infections. Total 95 patients of Ear Infections are included in this study.

  • Urinary tract infections (UTI) are the second most common infections encountered in clinical practice and is associated with a high rate of morbidity and economic burden. Knowledge of the local antibiotic resistance patterns will help in providing empirical therapy and helps in prevention of resistance. This was a retrospective study conducted from January 2017 to December 2018 at a medical college in South India. Samples received included mid-stream clean catch urine, Catheterized urine, suprapubic aspirate.

  • In Sudan, Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the most antibiotics resistant bacteria isolated among other bacterial strains of clinical impact. Carbapenems, such as imipenem are often used as last resort antibiotics for the treatment of multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. The study was performed to evaluate the OprD porin protein profile among clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from urine samples. Fifty six clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were collected from different hospitals in Khartoum State.

  • Community-acquired bloodstream infections are the infections detected within 48 hours of hospitalization, showing positive blood culture and develop spontaneously without an association with any prior medical interventions. Aims of the study are to identify the clinical profile of patients, detect the pathogens causing community-acquired bloodstream infections (CA-BSI) and their antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and to perform the molecular characterization of resistant pathogens.
