The plasmon characterization of AgNS on paper was systematically investigated by the diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The fabricated paper-based SERS substrates were used to detect melamine in an aqueous solution and to determine the influence of type RAs on the enhancement factor (EF) and signal uniformity of SERS substrates. Among the four types of RAs, the SERS substrates used NaBH4 have the highest SERS signal with the limit of detection of 10-8 M for melamine and the EF = 2.3 × 109 .

Porous silicon photonic crystal (PSi PhC) decorated with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) is shown to provide a new substrate for the improvement of SERS. AgNPs are obtained through immersion of PSi PhC samples in AgNO3 solutions and successive thermal annealing.

A portable and simple Raman scattering and photoluminescence spectroscopy system was set up for sensitive and rapid determination of nitrate/nitrite at low concentrations in water samples. The SERS (Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering) e active Ag/ITO substrates were prepared and employed to obtain the enhanced Raman scattering light from the sample.

We report on the improved stability and yield of silver nanorods with well controlled aspect ratios synthesized using a modified seed mediated approach conducted at room temperature. It is found that the longitudinal surface plasmon resonance of these nanoparticles can be tuned in the spectral range 400e 700 nm by varying the concentration of seed particles.

In this study, a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate based on an octahedral nanostructure of cuprous oxide (Cu2O) was fabricated to probe methylene blue (MB) molecules. Cu2O nanocrystals were synthesized by the solvothermal process using ethylene glycol, which plays both roles of reductant and organic solvent.

Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) is a technique that is increasingly being used to detect trace amounts of various types of molecules, especially organic and biological molecules. The SERS effect is available mainly due to the SERS substrate - a noble metal surface that is rough at the nano level or a set of noble metal nanoparticles in a certain arrangement.

The objective of this project was to develop \(Ti{O_2}\) based multifunctional substrates through silver decoration, while simultaneously enhancing the photocatalytic performance of \(Ti{O_2}\) in the substrate. Employing Ag nanoparticles introduced additional functionality to the system, namely surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), thus enabling the detection of trace amounts of organic molecules prior to their degradation, all with the same substrate.

The sponge pores decorated with Au nanoparticles could effectively capture and concentrate microplastics in the pores from aquaes sample. Interestingly, the adjustable size of the sponge could allow the distance between the “hot spots” on the substrate surface to be controlled, hence controlling the SERS signal intensity.

In this report, SERS substrates based on Ag-decorated TiO2 nanofibers electrospun on a glass substrate (Ag/TiO2/glass) were successfully prepared using electrospinning and photodeposition methods. XRD pattern demonstrated that the crystalline structure of TiO2 nanofibers (TiO2 NFs) consisted of both anatase and rutile phase.

Magnetic and optical bifunctional nanoparticles that combine easy separation, preconcentration, and efficient SERS capabilities have been fabricated with high sensitivity and reproducibility through a low-cost method. These gold nanoparticles attached on magnetic silica-coated cobalt nanospheres (Co@SiO2 /AuNPs) display the advantage of strong resonance absorption due to gaps at nanoscale between neighboring metal nanoparticles bringing large field enhancements, known as “hot spots”.

Metal/graphene heterojunction structure has been one of the most crucial tools in the growth of high-performance Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) platform, which is appropriate for sensing applications. In this research, we developed a SERS platform, graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) decorated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on cellulose paper substrate, in which GNRs was synthesized by wet chemical based on unzipping process of Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), then GNRs hybridized with AgNPs through magnetron sputtering method.

Thanks to unique Raman spectra of chemical substances, a growing number of applications in environmental and biomedical fields based on Raman scattering has been developed. However, the low probability of Raman scattering hindered its potential development and thus, many different techniques were developed to enhance Raman signal.

The 2D arrays of Cu NDs were fabricated in high quality. Morphology of the substrates was observed by scanning electron microscopy. Surface plasmon resonance absorption was observed with different peaks in the range of 400-1400nm wavelengths that means the substrate is promising for SERS application. The Raman spectrum of Rhodamine 6G loaded on AAO substrates was much enhanced.
