The aim of this study was to explore the correlation between biomarkers of lipid metabolism and gastric cancer. Methods 1120 gastric cancer patients and 1134 health examiners enrolled in this study. The clinic data and serum lipid level, including Total cholesterol (TC), Triglyceride (TG), Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and Highdensity lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), were collected.

Our findings demonstrate the presence of distinct metabolites in the serum of gastric cancer patients compared to healthy individuals. Lysophosphatidic acid, triglycerides, lysine, sphingosine1-phosphate, phosphatidylcholine, oxidized ceramide, and phosphatidylglycerol hold potential as biomarkers for evaluating postoperative efficacy and monitoring recurrence in gastric cancer patients.

Beta cyfluthrin is widely used multipurpose synthetic pyrethroid. Indiscriminate uses resulting to deleterious effects in animal metabolism. Present study has been designed to investigate the effects of beta cyfluthrin on haemato-biochemical alteration in both the sexes of Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). Beta cyfluthrin was orally administered, 38.0 mg/kg b. wt. (high dose), 12.66 mg/kg b. wt. (mid dose), 4.22 mg/kg b. wt. (low dose) for 90 days with high dose recovery.

Forty five extensively reared pregnant Ganjam does were randomly distributed into three treatment groups (T1, T2, T3), 15 in each for evaluating the effect of late pregnancy allowances to them on haemato-biochemical profiles of their kids. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the common metabolic disorders that ultimately afflicts large number of individuals. Adrenomedullin (AM) is a potent vasodilator peptide; previous studies reported development of insulin resistance in aged AM deficient mice. In this study, we employed a gene delivery approach to explore its potential role in insulin resistance. Four groups were included: control, diabetic, non-diabetic injected with the AM gene and diabetic injected with the AM gene.

This work aimed to study the effect of swimming exercise on serum vitamin D level and tissue vitamin D receptors in experimentally induced type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Sixty adult male rats were divided into control and diabetic groups. Each was further subdivided into sedentary and exercised subgroups. Diabetes Mellitus was induced by a single intraperitoneal dose of streptozotocin (50 mg/kg) dissolved in cold 0.01 M citrate buffer (pH 4.5). The exercised subgroups underwent swimming for 60 min, 5 times a week for 4 weeks.

Schistosoma mansoni and Schistosoma haematobium are intravascular, parasitic flatworms that infect >250 million people in 70 developing countries, yet not all people of the same community and household are afflicted. Regarding laboratory rodents, mice but not rats are susceptible to infection with S. mansoni and hamsters but not mice are entirely permissive to infection with S. haematobium. A recent Brazilian publication has demonstrated that resistance of the water-rat, Nectomys squamipes to S. mansoni infection might be ascribed to stores of arachidonic acid (ARA)-rich lipids in liver.

Serum total Cholesterol (CHO), HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C), Triglycerid (TG) were measured on 58 normal subjects (control) and 77 gouty patients at HTO. Our results showed that: The number of young patients in our report was rather higher than those found in previous reports (27.27 % of the patients with age less than 40). Patients had significantly higher cholesterol, triglycerid, the CHO/HDL-C ratio and lower HDL than control group. Hyperlipemia was the most commun accompaning abnormal laboratory test (84.41%). Abstract We investigated the effects of Antep pistachio on International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) scores, penile color Doppler ultrasound (PCDU) parameters and serum lipid levels in patients with ED. A total of 17 married male patients with ED for at least 12 months were included in this prospective study. Patients were put on a 100 g pistachio nuts diet for 3 weeks. IIEF and PCDU were evaluated before and after the pistachio diet.
