The terminal performs continuous measurements on its own and neighboring cells and send measurement reports when required. Once the measurement report is sent the serving eNB can take a handover decision and start the handover preparation phase. When the terminal successfully receives the handover command no more communication is required in the source cell T1 is the time from when the handover should occur until it do occur.

This thesis intends to develop application-level access control models to address several major security issues in enterprise environments. The first goal is to provide simple and efficient authorization specifications to reduce the complexity of security management. The second goal is to provide dynamic access control for Web service applications. The third goal is to provide an access control framework for Semantic Web services. In this thesis, an Authorization-Function-Based Role-based Access Control (FB-RBAC) model is proposed for controlling enterprise systems at the application level.

Government information is often not mobile friendly; increasing accessibility (especially of local information) is one way libraries can serve diverse users. Some libraries are providing services of this type in a desktop-oriented way already. This chapter discusses tools that can be used to make such sites more mobile friendly, including ones requiring little funds or technical background. The most obvious way to leverage patrons’ mobile devices is to put content on the Web.

Many services require a mechanism for allowing users to manage their service configuration. For example, a presence server requires presentities (users) to authorize which watchers can see their presence information. A Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC) service requires users to create and manage groups. Likewise a conference may require users to configure a dial-out or dial-in list of participants, their privileges (who can speak or who can send or receive which media type), and so on.

Now that we have introduced all of the technologies used in the IMS (see Parts II and III), we are ready to describe how we can use those technologies to achieve the main goal of IMS: providing services. In previous sections we looked at how the IMS provides some services (e.g., multimedia sessions). Other services do not need extra standardization and can be provided with all of the tools we have described (e.g., a voicemail service). In addition, there are services that require extra standardization. ...

The term AAA has been traditionally used to refer to Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting activities. All of those activities are of crucial importance for the operation of an IP network, although typically they are not so visible to the end user. The importance of AAA functions lies in the fact that they provide the required protection and control in accessing a network. As a consequence, the administrator of the network can bill the end user for services used.

State statutes define a position as a "group of duties and responsibilities...which require the services of an employee on a part-time or full-time basis." A position description (PD) is a structured document assigning work to a given position as it is expected to be performed after customary orientation and training. It will tell the reader what the worker is responsible for doing, how it is done, and how it relates to other positions within and outside the work unit.

Computer networks are gaining increasing importance as they penetrate business and everyday life. Technological evolution results in increased computational power and transmission capacity. These phenomena open the way to the development and exploitation of new applications (e.g. video conferencing) which require demanding services from the network. As a result, computer networks are in continuous evolution and the protocols regulating their operation must be assessed for their suitability to new technologies and ability to support the new applications. ...

Segment Design Tradeoffs I. OVERVIEW The six steps in the systems-level design process associated with the software radio are illustrated in Figure 6-1. The tradeoffs proceed from front end to back end. The choice of antennas (step 1 in the figure) determines the number and bandwidth of RF channels (step 2). This, in turn, constrains the numbers and bandwidths of ADCs (step 3). Some waveforms may require dedicated ASICs (e.g., W-CDMA despreaders) in front of the ADCs. Additional parallel IF processing and ADC paths may be necessary to support multiple-service bands simultaneously....

Maintaining the Network into the design of a network, and no matter how reliable the individual components are, corrective action will always be required in some form or another, to prevent or make good network and component failures, and maintain overall service standards. However, attitudes towards maintenance and the organization behind it vary widely, ranging from the ‘let it fail then fix it’ school of thought right through to ‘prevent faults at any cost’
