  • Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) is an important low volume high value seed spices grown in India. India is the largest producer and consumer of cumin seed in the world while Gujarat is leading in production and Rajasthan in acreage (Table 1). Cumin is grown on 104828 ha area with an annual production of 28410 tonnes in Barmer district with an average productivity of 348 kg/ha. About 90% of the total production is marketed in Krishi Upaj Mandis of adjoining state i.e. Unjha, Deesa, Mehsana etc of Gujarat instead of Rajasthan.

  • In the general framework of a constraint-based grammar formalism often some sort of feature logic serves as the constraint language to describe linguistic objects. We investigate the extension of basic feature logic with subsumption (or matching) constraints, based on a weak notion of subsumption. This mechanism of oneway information flow is generally deemed to be necessary to give linguistically satisfactory descriptions of coordination phenomena in such formalisms.

  • Innovation is central to business success, yet no other aspect of business is as frustrating and out of control. Instead of occurring in fits and starts and strokes of genius, innovation needs to become an all-the-time event that’s measurable, reliable, predictable, streamlined, and effective. Asserting that every innovation objective has a finite set of possible solutions given its unique constraints, TRIZ, the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving, is a structured system for making innovation more manageable and profitable. ...

  • Scheduling of Independent Tasks This chapter deals with scheduling algorithms for independent tasks. The first part of this chapter describes four basic algorithms: rate monotonic, inverse deadline, earliest deadline first, and least laxity first. These algorithms deal with homogeneous sets of tasks, where tasks are either periodic or aperiodic. However, real-time applications often require both types of tasks. In this context, periodic tasks usually have hard timing constraints and are scheduled with one of the four basic algorithms. ...
