Between 1995 and 2016, the government of Uganda ratified several commitments to fight child undernutrition including achieving the 65th World Health Assembly (WHA) targets of reducing stunting and wasting by 2025. It is important we monitor such commitments to inform policy makers about the progress of their commitments.

Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) is an important crop grown worldwide for its use as spice and vegetable. Murda complex is the most destructive syndrome causing substantial economic losses in chilli production. Severe leaf curling, leaf distortion, vein banding, reduced leaf size and stunted growth are typical symptoms of the viral infection. Chilli is known to be infected by many viruses and association of Geminivirus with murda complex is under question as the complex disease doesn’t associate with whiteflies.

The major production constraint for okra is yellow vein mosaic disease, causing losses with regard to the quality and as well as the yield. This is a viral disease occurring on bhendi. Yellowing of the entire network of veins in the leaf blade is the characteristic symptom. In severe infections, the younger leaves turn yellow to become entirely chlorotic and the plant is highly stunted.

Of late, rice root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne graminicola has emerged as a major threat throughout the world due to its adoptable nature, broad host range and ability of causing potential yield loss. The losses caused by M. graminicola may vary from 16-80 %. The daignostic symptoms of root knot disease of rice are, stunted growth, yellowing, and gall formation on the roots of rice plants. The degree of symptom manifestation depends on several factors, viz., time of infection, age of the plants and load of inoculums.

Stunting remains a major public health concern in Nepal as it increases the risk of illness, irreversible body damage and mortality in children. Public health planners can reshape and redesign new interventions to reduce stunting and severe stunting among children aged less than 5 years in this country by examining their determinants.

Stunting is one of the main public health problems in Tanzania. It is caused mainly by malnutrition among children aged less than 5 years. Identifying the determinants of stunting and severe stunting among such children would help public health planners to reshape and redesign new interventions to reduce this health hazard.

Argininemia is rare inborn error of metabolism which, when untreated, presents in late infancy with growth delay and developmental regression. In developed countries, argininemia is diagnosed early by newborn screening and is treated immediately with a protein-restricted diet.

Burundi is one of the poorest countries and is among the four countries with the highest prevalence of stunting (58%) among children aged less than 5 years. This situation undermines the economic growth of the country as undernutrition is strongly associated with less schooling and reduced economic productivity.

Tomato leaf curl virus disease (ToLCVD) is one of the major causes for highest economical loss of tomato in India. In this study, Natural incidence of ToLCV disease on tomato was observed at Gujarat, India in the March, 2019. The infected plants revealed systemic viral symptoms in the form of sever leaf curling, leaf crumple with marginal yellowing, stem warped and stunted. Molecular methods were followed to further characterized coat protein (CP) gene of tomato leaf curl virus using specified primers.

Globally one out of four children under 5 years is affected by linear growth delay (stunting). This syndrome has severe long-term sequelae including increased risk of illness and mortality and delayed psychomotor development. Stunting is a syndrome that is linked to poor nutrition and repeated infections.
