Jiaogulan (Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino) is distributed mostly in mountainous areas, in shaded and humid places at 300-3200 meters above sea level. This study was conducted to determine the appropriate application dose of nitrogen for the growth of Jiaogulan under different shading conditions.

A field experiment was carried out at the farm of ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi during rabi season of 2014-15 and 2015-16. The study was conducted to observe response of wheat under reduced solar radiation. In this experiment, three wheat cultivars namely, HD 2967, WR 544 and PBW 502 were grown under five solar radiation reduction treatments i.e. R1 (control), R2 (20% shading), R3 (35% shading), R4 (50% shading) and R5 (75% shading) levels. Ground held spectroradiometer was used for spectral reflectnance measurement of wheat canopy.

Seeds of Gmelina arborea many times do not germinate due to unknown reason. So the study was initiated to determine optimum stage of fruit maturity (green, yellow and yellow brown), suitable growing environment (agro-net shade and open field condition) and sowing time (August, September, October, November, December and January) on germination and seedling growth. A field experiment was conducted during rabi, 2015-16 at Hi-Tech Horticulture Unit, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad to investigate the “Studies on integrated nutrient management in red cabbage grown under shade house condition”. Fifteen gynoecious parthenocarpic hybrids hybrids/lines of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) were evaluated under polyhouse (fifty percent shade/naturally ventilated) conditions for yield and quality. The genotypic and phenotypic coefficient of variations were highest for nodal position of first female flower, number fruits, fruit weight and fruit yield per plant which indicates maximum variability is existing in the genotypes. High genetic advance as per cent mean was observed for most of the characters, indicating that these characters are controlled by additive gene action.

Materials that I use Sketch book - I chose a pad of recycled paper and of thicker quality so that I can use a darker lead and eraser.
