Shock states

In this paper a Pooled Ordinary Least Square model has been considered for some Southeast Asia countries in order to study the direct effects of world oilprice shocks and real interest rate on inflation. Our results canbe summarized as follows: For seven Southeast Asian countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Singapore, world crude oil price and real interest rate both have statistical significant negative impact on inflation.

The study finds a cointegrating relationship between the variables. The study argues that the country is not experiencing the phenomenon of resource curse as oil rents are not negatively impacting economic growth in the long run. Using non linear ARDL method the study reports a higher rate of growth to a positive shock in oil rents as compare to negative shocks in oil rents. This hints at the resilience of the country as the country’s growth rate is less effected with the fall in oil rents. It is also assumed that mere rent seeking economies tend to have poor quality of institutions.

This paper investigates the interaction between non-standard debt investment (NSDI) and non-principal-guaranteed wealth management products (WMPs) of commercial banks in China after controlling the influences of several bank-specific and regulatory determinants. A credit switching model is employed to illustrate the mechanism in which special interest vehicles (SIVs) serve as the conduits for parent banks to conduct regulatory arbitrage by trade-off between on-balance-sheet funding strategy NSDI and off-balance-sheet financing via consignment of WMPs.

The United State of America has been experiencing high debt to GDP ratio of more than 100% and these Public debts are detrimental. The main purpose of this study was to examine the shocks of the variables on others in the USA economy by using quarterly data. The variance decomposition and the Generalised Impulse Response Function techniques were employed to analyse the data. The result revealed that high variation of shocks in real federal debt is explained by their own innovations in the short run, by CPI followed by real federal debt its self.

Research study sheds additional light on Americans’ financial fragility (Lusardi). Respondents were asked about confidence in their ability to come up with $2,000 in 30 days. This figure was chosen because it represents the approximate cost of an everyday emergency, like a major car or home repair, medical expense copay or legal expense. One quarter of survey respondents stated that they certainly could not come up with this sum of money, and another 15% probably could not do so. This finding suggests that nearly half of Americans are incapable of coping with a moderate financial shock.

Human heat shock protein of apparent molecular mass 20 kDa (Hsp20) and its mutant, S16D, mimicking phos-phorylation by cyclic nucleotide-dependent protein kinases, were cloned and expressed inEscherichia coli. The proteins were obtained in a homogeneous state without utilization of urea or detergents. On size exclusion chromatography at neutral pH, Hsp20 and its S16D mutant were eluted as symmetrical peaks with an apparent molecular mass of 55–60 kDa.

Traditional estimates that often find minimum wage disemployment effects include controls for state unemployment rates and state- and year-fixed effects. Using CPS data on teens for the period 1990–2009, we show that such estimates fail to account for heterogeneous employment patterns that are correlated with selectivity among states with minimum wages. As a result, the estimates are often biased and not robust to the source of identifying variation.

The rst seven variables contain information about the general state of the economy and help to identify monetary policy and capital inows shocks. The model includes both short-term and long-term interest rates. In our sample of countries short-term interest rates are largely controlled by central banks. Using movements in nominal short rates to identify monetary policy shocks is standard in VARs that study monetary policy (see eg Christiano et al (1999)). Long-term interest rates, on the other hand, tend to be driven by nancial market outcomes.
