The objective of the study was to find the explant resources, the type and concentration of plant growth regulators (PGRs), as well as the in vitro culture conditions suitable for different morphogenesis processes - callus induction, direct embryogenesis, shoot and root formation, etc. The growth and development of in vitro Ngoc Linh ginseng derived from thin cell layer (TCL) was examined in Quang Nam to assess the adaptability of in vitro Ngoc Linh plantlets in its natural territory, compared to those growing in Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park, Lam Dong.

The results showed that protocorms were formed from seeds culture on the ½ MS medium supplemented with 10% potatoes extract within 8 weeks. Protocorms which were cultured on the ½ MS medium containing 30 g/l sucrose, 0.5 g/l AC, 7 g/l agar, 0.1 mg/l NAA and 1 mg/l BA were optimal for PLB formation (8.67 PLBs/sample) after 8 weeks culture. Protocorms converted into normal plants with well-developed shoots and roots on the ½ MS medium supplemented with 20 g/l sucrose, 10% potatoes extract, 0.5 g/l AC, and 7 g/l agar after about 90 days.

This study is to investigate the in vitro propagation and ex vitro root formation of Gnetum gnemon var. griffithii Markgr (G. gnemon), one of the nutrient-rich forest vegetables. The results showed that MS medium supplemented with 1.5 mg l-1 BAP was the most suitable combination for shoot formation after 90 days of culture. The combination between 1 mg l-1 BAP and 0.5 mg l-1 NAA gave the best in vitro rooting rate (40%) after 60 days culture.
