The basic aim of this study was to compare the denitrification efficacy of 2,5-dichloroaniline, Ammonium Thiosulphate and their combination (1:1) with previous studies. Ammonium Thiosulphate was not used as a nitrification inhibitor in previous research. Our findings depict that there was significant variation among the chemicals, soil and levels in denitrification for early seedling growth of wheat.

The Mekong deltaic coasts have suffered from erosion and mangrove losses due to many relative threats in human activities, bringing to coastal instabilities. The massive and large number of constructions, such as sea dikes, revetments, and sea walls, tend to break the equilibrium in multiple locations along the coasts. As a result, a significant reduction of mangroves comes along in qualitative and quantitative variations, for example, the number of trees in one location and the healthy width of mangroves.

The study "Optimizing broiler house management to reduce costs and reduce losses with the internet of things technology and wireless sensor network" primary objectives encompass cost reduction, loss mitigation and performance evaluation of feeding and watering devices. This proactive approach significantly reduces potential losses. Furthermore, the research evaluates cost implications. IoT technology’s ability to regulate variables like feed utilization and energy consumption aids cost reduction. The study’s findings offer practical insights for efficient resource allocation.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common condition of vision loss with disease development strongly influenced by environmental and genetic factors. Recently, 34 loci were associated with AMD at genome-wide significance. So far, little is known about a genetic overlap between AMD and other complex diseases or disease-relevant traits.

There are more than 100 million patients with various stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) with decrease in CKD1 to loss in CKD 5 (end stage renal disease, ESRD) in the ability of the kidney to excrete K+ causing hyperkalemia and potentially heart attack. To avoid hyperkalemia, kidney patients have to drastically limit the consumption of fruit and vegetable juices that significantly decreases the nutritional value of their diet.

Outbreaks of the Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) have caused significant losses in many rice-growing areas in Vietnam, especially in both North and Central Vietnam in recent years. To detect the virus, traditional reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) methodology and immunoassays are currently employed. RT-PCR is accurate but requires expensive chemicals and instruments, as well as complex procedures that limit its applicability for field tests.

The significant social and economic loss as a result of bovine tuberculosis (bTB) presents a continuous challenge to cattle industries in the UK and worldwide. However, host genetic variation in cattle susceptibility to bTB provides an opportunity to select for resistant animals and further understand the genetic mechanisms underlying disease dynamics.

Anastrepha fraterculus Wiedemann is a horticultural pest which causes significant economic losses in the fruit-producing areas of the American continent and limits the access of products to international markets. The use of environmentally friendly control strategies against this pest is constrained due to the limited knowledge of its population structure.

Most genome-wide association studies assumed an additive model of inheritance which may result in significant loss of power when there is a strong departure from additivity. The General Regression Model (GRM), which allows performing an assumption-free test for association by testing for both additive effect and deviation from additive effect, may be more appropriate for association tests.

The cross-linked microbeads with average diameter of 106–300 μm, [poly(EGDMA-MATrp)], were obtained by copolymerization reaction of N-methacryloyl-L-(+)-tryptophan methyl ester (MATrp) with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) and successfully applied as a heterogeneous catalyst in conjugate addition reaction of nitromethane to substituted 2-iminochromenes in aqueous media. A variety of 2-amino-4-(nitromethyl)-4H-chromene-3-carbonitriles has been synthesized in good yields. Polymeric microbeads were very durable and reused 5 times without a significant loss of activity.

Citrus production is declining worldwide due to several biotic and abiotic factors. The diseases caused by Phytophthora spp. present major economic risks since they are soil-borne and spread quickly if environmental conditions are favorable, or irrigation is poorly managed. Phytophthora species are present in all citrus-producing areas around the world causing significant losses in crop yield and affecting tree health.
