In this report, silicon quantum dots (SiQDs) with the NH2 functional group were synthesized with the hydrothermal method. The as-prepared SiQDs exhibit a strong fluorescence emission peak at 441 nm when excited at 355 nm and are effectively quenched upon adding Cr6+ ions.

A fluorescent probe based on silicon quantum dots (SiQDs) was developed for the selective and sensitive detection of oxytetracycline (OTC) via the inner filter effect (IFE). The water-soluble fluorescent SiQD was synthesized based on the reaction of 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and sodium citrate as precursors by the one-pot hydrothermal process. The strong fluorescence emission of quantum dots (QDs) was obtained at 440 nm when excited at 350 nm and OTC had a broad absorption band between 200 and 400 nm.

Chấm lượng tử (quantum dots: QDs) là thuật ngữ dùng để chỉ hạt hình cầu có cấu trúc tinh thể của chất bán dẫn, có đường kính d đủ nhỏ để làm xuất hiện các hiệu ứng giam hãm lượng tử. Khác so với bán dẫn rắn, QDs có độ rộng vùng cấm (energy gap: E/ị) tăng tuyến tính với i/d, có các trạng thái bị lượng tử hóa, có số nguyên tử nằm trên bề mặt đáng kể so với tổng số nguyên tử cấu trúc, và đặc biệt có thể tan trong một số dung môi.
