Six wheat genotypes
-
Anther culture response of six wheat genotypes and their F1 crosses was investigated. Results indicated that considerable genetic variation among the tested genotypes was observed. Calli were obtained from all wheat genotypes studied.

Cereals are generally regarded as the “staff of life”. Wheat, rice and maize are the major cereals constituting the staple diet of the majority of the world population among which wheat is counted among the „big three‟ cereal crops. Zero tillage enables farmers to sow wheat in left optimum moisture with good germination capacity and increases soil aggregates due to minimal disturbance of soil structure/texture. The present experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2016-17 at agronomy farm of BAU, Sabour, Bihar.

Sowing of wheat in left optimum moisture through zero tillage technology not only provides a good germination but also improves the soil fertility, soil physical properties and saves time hence increases net return on sustained basis. It causes minimal disturbance of soil structure and texture ultimately increases size of soil aggregates. In the present experimental study, genotypes and tillage effect was observed.

Global warming and soil salinity drastically reduced the productivity of cereals including wheat which is the most important food crop next to rice. A laboratory experiment was conducted with three replications to screen forty six winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes for individual salinity and high temperature stress and their combined effect at germination and early seedling growth stage.

Homologous transformation sterility-1 (HTS-1) is a novel wheat mutant that exhibits pistillody, the transformation of stamens into pistils or pistil-like structures. More extreme phenotypes of this mutation can have six pistils or pistil-like structures without any stamens in a floret.

Two field experiments were carried out at agriculture research stations of Agriculture Research Center (ARC). In 2014/2015 -2015/2016 seasons, the six parental genotypes were planted and the six parents were planted in a field experiment using the randomized complete block design with three replications. With the trials conducted, the correlation coefficients and path analysis were calculated between grain yield and yield components of wheat genotypes.

Breeding of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars with improved adaptation to low-N fertilization has gained importance worldwide nowadays. The present investigation aimed to identify the best general combiners and parental combinations for recombination breeding under low nitrogen condition to improve the nitrogen use efficiency. Six parents and fifteen F1s were evaluated under 50 per cent nitrogen condition using randomized complete block design with three replications.

Variation in lysine content in durum wheat (Triticum durum L.) genotypes under irrigation conditions
The present investigation was carried out to analyze the variation in lysine content in thirty six durum wheat genotypes under irrigation conditions. The cereal proteins are low in lysine one of the essential amino acids that cannot be synthesized by humans and must therefore be obtained entirely from dietary sources.

Present investigation was carried out to study the variability parameters of quantitative as well as qualitative traits and their contribution towards seed yield which may be used as selection criteria for yield improvement in wheat under rainfed condition. Thirty six genotypes of wheat were studied for two consecutive years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 following Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two replications in this experiment at Kalyani District of West Bengal.

In India, wheat is the most important cereal crop and plays a major role in food and nutritional safety. Worldwide, there is a growing interest in the development of wheat cultivars that are more effective in utilizing nitrogen (N) and better suited to N constraints. he objective of this research was to investigate the comparative significance of general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability in a set of wheat genotypes with promising lines and their corresponding half-diallel crosses.

An experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with two replications at experimental area of Research Farm, College of Agriculture, Gwalior, (M.P.) during 2014-2015. The study was undertaken to inheritance of grain yield and its components in thirty six wheat genotypes. Analysis of variance revealed that genotypes were significantly differed for all characters and suggested considerable variability for all yield and its attributing characters in the present material.
