Total laryngectomy (TL) is a surgical procedure commonly performed on patients with advanced laryngeal or hypopharyngeal carcinoma. One of the most common postoperative complications following TL is the development of a pharyngocutaneous fistula (PCF), characterized by a communication between the neopharynx and the skin. PCF can lead to extended hospital stays, delayed oral feeding, and compromised quality of life.

This article discusses the use of the posterior arm flap (PAF), an often-overlooked option in axillary reconstruction. However, this is a fasciocutaneous flap with many advantages: A constant vascular pedicle, flexible mobility, simple flap dissection, large skin flap, no destruction of the donor site, especially suitable for cases with excessive skin on the arms.

Skin cancer frequently affects the nose, particularly in sun-exposed areas such as the ala, apex, root, and bridge. Even minor nasal lesions can pose aesthetic and psychosocial challenges for patients, necessitating nasal reconstruction tailored to anatomical units and defect size.

Assess treatment outcomes of major scalp defects using local flaps of vascular pedicle. Materials and methods: Crosssectional descriptive study on 16 patients with major scalp defects who received surgery at Center of Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery, Military Central Hospital 108 from September 2016 to April 2021. Participants were received reconstruction surgery to cover their defects using local flaps of vascular pedicle.

The keystone flap is an effective technique for reconstructive surgery that restores the natural contour of the affected area and provides superior aesthetic results. This technique involves taking healthy skin and subcutaneous tissue from a nearby area and transplanting it to the site of the defect, creating a new skin area that meets the patient’s ideal outcome.

Head and neck tissue defects are frequently, especially deep and wide defects caused by burning. Choosing sufficient material is a big challenge for surgeons. Using double anterolateral thigh perforator flaps in chimeric type is a new method, a new idea with many advantages for providing large tissue volume to reconstruct extensive defects in face and head area.

Defects of the neck after palliative resection of exulcerated tumors could be reconstructed with different skin flaps. The present report describes the case of a 40-year-old Caucasian female patient with advanced anaplastic thyroid cancer. The exophytically growing, bad-smelling massive exulcerated tumor caused an esthetic defect, neck mobility restrictions, and mental state deterioration.

Anterolateral thigh flap (ALT flap) is first found and used by Song in 1984. Classified in the perforator type flaps, ALT flaps is blood supplied by the perforators of the descending branch of the lateral circumflex thigh artery. The flap is the first of choice in many cases, those need a large soft tissue for reconstruction, especially in the cervico facial area thanks to many advantages of the flap: constants and relievable anatomic structure, large blood supply, flexible in use as well as other advantages.

The use of flaps in vulvar cancer-related reconstruction has been increasing, but few studies have evaluated the outcome and quality of life of patients after this surgery. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of vulvar reconstruction using musculocutaneous/skin flaps in patients with advanced and recurrent vulvar malignancies.

Open wound management, until the wound is considered suitable for reconstruction or until it has healed by second intention, has been the treatment of choice for centuries. The aim of wound healing is to promote rapid wound closure and prevent excess scar formation. The canine adipose cells obtained not exceeding the second passage was used for topical administration with appropriate substrate on the recipient wound bed. The flaps performed in the present study were flank and elbow rotational flap, transposition flap, caudal superficial epigastric flap, single and bipedicle advancement flaps.

Open wound management, until the wound is considered suitable for reconstruction or until it has healed by second intention, has been the treatment of choice for centuries. The aim of wound healing is to promote rapid wound closure and prevent excess scar formation. Application of platelet rich plasma remain a viable option for enhancing the granulation tissue formation and early wound bed preparation before large wounds could be reconstructed with skin flaps.

An Eight-month-old intact Male Harlequin Great Dane Dog was presented to Small Animal Surgery Outpatient Unit of Madras Veterinary College with a history of a chronic non-healing wound on the lateral aspect of the distal hock region. Subjective analysis of the wound on the day of presentation revealed pink colour with purulent exudate and offensive odour. A wound planimetry was performed and the wound was dimensionally measured (10cm x12 cm).The wound was highly exudative and was in the inflammatory phase, a wet to dry bandaging was performed on alternate days until the exudates reduced.
