Small non-coding RNA molecules

Xem 1-8 trên 8 kết quả Small non-coding RNA molecules
  • MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been recently described as small noncoding RNAs that are involved in numerous crucial physiological processes, such as cell cycles, differentiation, development, and metabolism. Thus, dysregulation of these molecules could lead to several severe disorders, including breast cancer (BC). Ongoing investigations in malignant growth diagnostics have distinguished miRNAs as promising disease biomarkers. As with any other mRNAs, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in DNA sequence encoding for miRNA (miR-SNPs) indeed lead to potential changes in the function of miRNA.

  • Bioinformatic analyses have suggested their upregulation in leukemia/lymphoma, thymoma, pancreas, glioma, and glioblastoma, and downregulation in cervical, uterine, rectum, and colon cancers. However, every cancer type includes, at least, a subtype with high MEIS expression. In addition, studies have highlighted that MEIS proteins and associated factors may function as diagnostic or therapeutic biomarkers for various diseases.

  • Small RNAs (sRNAs) are noncoding molecules that regulate different cellular activities in several bacteria. The role of sRNAs in gene expression regulation is poorly characterized in the etiological agent of porcine enzootic pneumonia Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. We performed a global analysis of the sRNAs, sRNA target genes and regulatory elements previously identified in their genome and analyzed the expression of some sRNAs and their target genes by quantitative RT-PCR (qPCR) in three different culture conditions.

  • The Pacific abalone, Haliotis discus hannai, is the most important cultivated abalone in China. Improving abalone muscle growth and increasing the rate of growth are important genetic improvement programs in this industry. MicroRNAs are important small noncoding RNA molecules that regulate post-transcription gene expression.

  • MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short endogenous, single-stranded, noncoding small RNA molecules of approximately 22 nucleotides in length. They regulate gene expression posttranscriptionally by silencing mRNA expression, thus orchestrating many physiological processes.

  • Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are small membrane vesicles secreted by the cells that mediate intercellular transfer of molecules and contribute to transduction of various signals. Viral infection and action of pro-inflammatory cytokines has been shown to alter molecular composition of EV content.

  • MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a kind of small noncoding RNA molecules that are direct posttranscriptional regulations of mRNA targets. Studies have indicated that miRNAs play key roles in complex diseases by taking part in many biological processes, such as cell growth, cell death and so on.

  • MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are important noncoding regulatory RNAs. They are expressed endogenously and are 18–26 nucleotides in length. These small molecules are conserved evolutionarily within the same kingdom and their conserved nature becomes an important logical tool for the quest of conserved miRNAs in other species by homology search using bioinformatics tools.
