The fibre obtained from sisal leaf is thicker than many other natural plant fibres and itis valued for its outstanding strength and durability. Due to some special qualities i.e. good dying ability, less moisture absorbing ability and low maintenance etc. of fibre, it is utilized in the cordage industries for manufacture of general and marine ropes, twines and carpets. The fibre is also utilized for making of coarse textile materials like nets, mats, wall coverings and making of handicrafts (Lock, 1969).

Flaxseed is known as a source of Omega-3 fatty acid. Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA) constitutes about 57% of the total fatty acid in flaxseed. There is a need to promote the use of Omega-3 fatty acid for nutritional requirements. Linseed contains a high amount of Omega-3. An enriched mouth freshener (containing Omega-3 fatty acid) was developed with incorporation of Flaxseed to evaluate sensory quality and nutritional value of the product. Flaxseed Mouth Freshener was standardized using organoleptic evaluation technique with help of 10 panel members using 9- point hedonic ranking scale.

Floriculture has blossomed into commercial activity with a considerable growth and a useful crop diversification option, particularly for small farmers over the past three decades. India has now emerged as second largest grower of flowers after china. In Jammu and Kashmir the practice of flower cultivation at commercial scale by individual growers is at its infancy stage in the state; however commercial cultivation is gradually increasing with boost from the state government.

A case study was conducted by Agricultural Extension Education Center, Koppal with an innovative ground nut grower and small scale entrepreneur for a period of two years. Cold press oil extraction unit established by the farmer could successfully extract 3.60 tons of oil seeds in a month with a net savings of Rs. 16485. The unit became self sustain in a span of one year and could generate employment of 365 man days. The consumers are satisfied with the quality and purity of oil which they purchased for consumption.
