The fungus that causes wilt of carnations is Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. dianthi, specific only to carnations and closely related plants. In our study, six fungicides were selected and tested their efficacy in reducing the Fusarial population and wilt incidence. The fungicides were applied to the soil by drenching method.

Pseudomonas fluorescens culture was applied at different dilutions to induce resistance in Tomato (Solanum esculentum L.) against the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. The efficacy of this culture, when applied as a soil drench or root dip, was compared with inoculated non-treated plants under greenhouse conditions. P. fluorescens was able to reduce nematode parameters at all dilutions and in both types of application.

An investigation was carried out for three consecutive years 2011-13 years to study the influence of Paclobutrazol (PBZ) on flowering, fruiting and yield of cashew cultivar ullal3. The various doses of paclobutrazol i.e. 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 g a.i., per plant was applied as soil drench annually, biennially and once in three years in the month of October before vegetative flushing of plants.

Pythium damping-off of Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) is very common problem in fields and greenhouses, whereas the organism kills newly emerged seedlings. In present investigation repeated isolations from rotten seeds as well as toppled seedlings of Chilli cv. Pusa Jwala have yielded the cultures of P. aphanidermatum. The damping off mainly being soil borne, the primary infections are needed to be controlled with suitable fungicides. The different fungicides and bioagents were evaluated as seed dressers and soil drenching.

Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is one of the most ancient oil seed crop cultivated in tropical and sub-tropical countries. Irrespective of the agro-climate conditions, sesame is liable to be infected by various pathogenic fungi. Among the fungal diseases, stem and root rot of sesame caused by Macrophomina phaseolina affects severely at all stages of crop growth. Macrophomina phaseolina is a diverse, omnipresent soil borne pathogen. The pathogen survives as sclerotia in the soil and in host tissue for varying periods.

A field experiment was conducted during the year 2017-18 at Post Graduate Institute Farm, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri. The experiment was laid out in Randomised block design with three replication and eleven treatments. The treatments comprised of T1: Absolute control, T2: only ZnSB, T3: GRDF(25:50 kg ha-1 N:P2O5 + FYM @ 5 t ha-1 ), T4 to T7 were GRDF + 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% RD of Zn through ZnSO4+ ZnSB and T8 to T11 were GRDF + 100 %, 75%, 50% and 25% RD of Zn through ZnO + ZnSB.

Bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) Yabuuchi is one of the most destructive diseases of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum), causing accountable losses of about 10-90 per cent. Present investigations on the disease (R. solanacearum) were carried out during 2014-15 to fulfill the objectives defined, at the Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, VNMKV, Parbhani. A total of 10 organic amendments evaluated (pot culture) as pre- sowing soil applications were found effective against R. solanacearum.

This study aimed to establish the colonization behavior and proliferation potential of three endophytes and one pathogen Ganoderma boninense (Gb) introduced into oil palm ramets (host model). The endophytes selected were Diaporthe phaseolorum (WAA02), Trichoderma asperellum (T2), and Penicillium citrinum (BTF08). Ramets were first inoculated with 100 mL of fungal cells (106 cfu mL 1 ) via soil drenching. For the next 7 days, ramets were sampled and subjected to three different assays to detect and identify fungal colonization, and establish their proliferation potential in planta.

Bathroom surfaces, such as faucets, handles, and toilet seats should be washed and disinfected several times a day, if possible, but at least once daily or when obviously soiled. The bleach and water solution or chlorine-containing scouring powders or other commercial bathroom surface cleaners/disinfectants can be used in these areas. Surfaces that infants and young toddlers are likely to touch or mouth, such as crib rails, should be washed with soap and water and disinfected with a nontoxic disinfectant, such as bleach solution, at least once daily and more often if visibly soiled.
