In this study, soil samples around Nam Son municipal waste disposal site were collected and analyzed 16 typical PAHs in order to determine the pollution level for cropland and the PAHs origin in this area. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study on organic matter pollution such as PAHs in paddy soil near the Soc Son solid waste treatment complex.

This study aims to evaluate the effect of fire on soil properties at Zone A5, Tram Chim National Park, Tam Nong district, Dong Thap province. Findings indicated that soil type was acid sulfate, soil structures were clay, clay-silt and silt-clay. pH was low while moisture was high. Electrical conductivity and bulk density were in the tolerance range for the Eleocharis community.

The research article "Polyester production by halophilic and halotolerant bacterial strains obtained from mangrove soil samples located in Northern Vietnam" reports halophilic and halotolerant bacteria isolated from mangrove forests located in Northern Vietnam. Several of these bacteria were able to synthesize polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). Tea and hazelnut cultivated soils are mainly distributed in Black Sea region of Turkey. Low pH value is a primary problem for those soils; therefore, farmers apply lime once every 3–4 years to raise the pH value of soil. Gyttja is highly rich in organic matter (40.59%) and lime (45.67%), and it is a low cost and considerably abundant in Afşin-Elbistan Coal Basin (estimated reserve is around 4.8 billion tons). The purpose of this study was to apply the modified Kostiakov method to determine the soil infiltration rate and permeated water amount of Thuong River alluvial soil for orange plantations in Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province, Vietnam. The soil particle size ranged from 0.02 to 2.00mm mainly found in the surface horizon (>77.7%). The soil was slightly acidic in the surface horizon, and highly acidic in the subsurface horizons (pHKCl from 3.42 to 4.79). The organic matter content of the surface horizon was mederate, while it was very low in the other horizons.

In acidic soils of Nagaland, the levels of available soil N, P and K together with organic carbon content and soil pH could be considered main soil fertility determinants.
