-
The current soil test phosphorous ratings of low, medium and high fertility classes and critical limits were revised by studying the response of maize in 24 soils of varied initial P fertility, treated with graded levels of P.

A pot experiment was laid out to investigate the impact of different levels of Lead and FYM on phosphorus uptake by plant components and total phosphorus uptake by the crop in texturally different soil. Treatments were comprised of five level of Pb (0, 5, 10 20 and 40 ppm) applied as Pb (NO3)2 and two levels of FYM (0 and 10 t ha-1 ) applied on two texturally different soils (Loamy sand and Clayey soils).

A field experiment was conducted in sandy clay loam soil of S.V. Agricultural College Farm, Tirupati with three levels of nitrogen viz., 75, 100, 125 % RDN and five biofertilizers viz., Azospirillum, phosphorus solubilizing bacteria (PSB), potassium solubilizing bacteria (KSB), zinc solubilizing bacteria (ZnS) and combined application of Azospirillum + PSB + KSB + ZnS each applied @ 5 kg ha-1 in randomized block design with factorial conceptin kharif maize.

The present investigation entitled on “Integrated nutrient management in maize under rainfed condition in Eastern part of U.P.” was conducted during kharif season of 2014-15 and 2015-16 Agronomy Research Farm Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology (Narendra Nagar), Kumarganj Faizabad (U.P.) Higher uptake of major nutrients viz., nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, iron and zinc was significantly higher with the application of T12- 75% NPK+FYM @ 6t ha-1 + ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1 as soil application + FeSO4 @ 10 kg ha-1 as soil application in maize.

Magnesium (Mg) is the structural component of chlorophyll and polysaccharides and also an activator of several enzymes. Magnesium plays an important role in photosynthesis. An attempt was made in the present investigation on utilizing this property for increasing rate of photosynthesis of maize plant and subsequently higher root exudations which enhance the microbial activities in soil. Green house experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of MgO nano particles spray on maize plant (Zea mays L.) in three benchmark soils of India which are phosphorus (P) deficient.
