Vietnam has many reservoirs with great potential for developing solar power on its surface. The operation of reservoirs with a large working height will increase or decrease the sun exposure of the panels, affecting the output of the floating solar power plant. The study uses the data of the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand over the period of 1995-2017 as gathered from the World Bank and Global Economy. The study uses Brush Pagon LM and Pearson CD to test the cross-section dependence among variables while Levin et al., (2002) panel unit root test to check the stationary in the data. Westerlund (2007) cointegration and FMOLS tests are applied to analyze the long-run relationship.

Compared with the popular existing MPPT techniques, the proposed method in this paper has an additional advantage as follows: under the condition of partial shading, the proposed method will forecast the positions of GMPPs and LMPPs on the P-V curve. The new method can quickly identify the GMPPs and avoid the energy loss due to blind scanning under the condition of partial shading. The experiment results verify that the proposed method guarantees convergence of the GMPPs under partial shading conditions.

Solar photovoltaic water pumping system is becoming an important alternative for reducing the usage of fossil fuels and electricity to a large extent. The performance of the photovoltaic (PV) water pumping system situated at Central Farm of AEC&RI, Kumulur, Tamil Nadu (Latitude: 10.93N, Longitude: 79.82E) had been studied. A 5hp DC motor with 3750W (15 panels of each 250W) had been used for a discharge of 20 m head. The system was tested for its performance in terms of variation in discharge due to change in solar output power.

The main objective of the present work is the characterization of the performance of a monocrystalline solar panel with a cooling system. Experiments have been developed with two heat sinks with the aim to avoid a decrease on the performance of the photovoltaic panels, which brings a higher energy production. Results show that the photovoltaic panel that uses the heat sink has a better performance than the panel that does not use the heatsink.
