Potentially active and eco-friendly solid acid catalysts have been synthesized by loading different weight percentages (10, 15, and 50) of nickel oxide on thermally activated Turkish perlite through the deposition-precipitation method. Structural features of prepared catalysts were analyzed using BET surface area analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope (SEM), SEM-EDX, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), pyridine adsorbed FT-IR, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) techniques.

This research is focused in South Surabaya because the number of waste bank mostly located in South Surabaya. The reduction occurring through the Waste Bank activities is 349 kg/day of the total generation of anorganic solid waste 101660 kg/day. The reduction percentage needs to be increased so that the volume of municipal waste can be suppressed. Therefore, there must be an effort to improve the performance of waste banks or increase the number of waste bank units.

The investigation was carried out at the Horticultural Research Centre, Patharchatta of the G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (U.S. Nagar), Uttarakhand to study the effect of preharvest foliar spray of micronutrients on chemical parameters of mango cv. Langra at ambient storage conditions.Under ambient storage conditions, preharvest foliar spray of boron, zinc, iron and copper gave minimum total titrable acidity. A combined application of boron, zinc and iron showed maximum total sugar percentage in ambient stored fruits.

The observations were recorded on physico-chemical characters of mango fruits. The maximum fruit length was recorded in Samarbehist Chausa, whereas the highest fruit breadth was recorded in Bombay Green. The maximum fruit weight, fruit volume, pulp weight and pulp: stone ratio and minimum stone weight were recorded in Banarasi Langra. Better quality fruits with respect to highest total soluble solids, reducing sugars and lowest acidity percentage were recorded in samarbahist Chausa.

Enzyme industrial wastes viz. multiple effect evaporator salts, primary sludge, filter press feed were evaluated for their phytotoxic effects under laboratory conditions to understand their potential to use as a nutrient medium for supporting plant growth. It was found that the industrial waste-water extract recorded lower contents of essential nutrients and the presence of heavy metals viz. Ni and Cd. Germination studies revealed the inhibitory effects of industrial waste-water extracts on percentage and rate of seed germination and length of plumule and radicle.

A long term field experiment was started during 2012-13 at E block of central research station, under AICRP on Micronutrient, O.U.A.T, Bhubaneswar to standardize the dose and frequency of boron application for rice-knol khol cropping system where boron is applied to first crop and Knol khol gets residual boron. In the present investigation residual effect of different graded doses of boron and its frequency of application on quality and post harvest parameters of Knol khol for the year 2017-18 was studied.

The research work entitled “Utilization of bottle gourd pulp (Lagenaria siceraria) for the preparation of Ujani basundi” was carried out during the year 2018-19. Milk was standardized to 4 per cent fat and the Ujani basundi prepared with addition of bottle gourd pulp at 0% (T1), 5% (T2), 10% (T3) and 15% (T4) per cent by weight of milk. The data analyzed statistically by using completely randomized design (CRD), with four treatments and five replications. Recycling and reuse of solid wastes as alternative building materials present interesting possibilities for economy on waste disposal sites and conservation of natural resources. This paper investigates the physical and mechanical properties of solid cement bricks manufactured with crushed clay bricks as recycled aggregates. Four series of mixtures with cement content 100, 150, 200 and 300 kg/m3 were prepared. In each series, either natural fine aggregate, coarse aggregate or both were replaced with crushed brick aggregates (CBA) at 0%, 50% and 100% by volume.

A combination of gel-casting and polymeric foam infiltration methods is used in this study to prepare porous bodies of hydroxyapatite (HA), to provide a better control over the microstructures of samples. These scaffolds were prepared by impregnating a body of porous polyurethane foam with slurry containing HA powder, and using a percentage of solids between 40% and 50% w/v, and three different types of monomers to provide a better performance.

This paper investigated the Sr doping effect on the microstructure, chemical stability, and conductivity of Ba1 xSrxCe0.65Zr0.25Nd0.1O3 d (0 6 x 6 0.2) electrolyte prepared by sol-gel method. The lattice constants and unit cell volumes were found to decrease as Sr atomic percentage increased in accordance with the Vegard law, confirming the formation of solid solution.
