In the present study collected twenty (20) direct sown paddy rhizosphere soil samples from four districts of Andhra Pradesh and recorded their geographical position of collected soil samples. From that thirty two (32) Zinc Solubilizing Bacteria (ZnSB) isolated by using zinc phosphate [Zn3(PO4)2] as a insoluble source of zinc in the trismineral salts media. Zinc solubilizing isolates coded based on their soil sample collected geographical position, recorded the morphological, cultural characteristics of ZnSB.

Microbial isolates were collected from rhizospheric soil of Meerut-Muzaffarnagar district of western Uttar Pradesh to identify the potassium solubilizing efficiency of different soil microbes. A total of thirty-eight potassium solubilizing microbes were identified and isolated on Aleksandrow Agar media. It was found that thirty-five of them were bacterial isolates and three were fungal isolates. They were further characterized based on morphological and biochemical characteristics.

Phosphorous is one of the most abundant metallic element found in the earth’s crust and present in soils in both organic and inorganic forms. Though it is present in high concentration, only 0.1% of the total P is available to plant because of poor solubility and its fixation in soil with other metallic elements in the soil such as Ca, Al, Fe to form calcium phosphate, aluminum phosphate and ferrous phosphate and thus becomes unavailable to plants.

Soil is the habitat of one of the most complex of natural biological coin munities in which all the phenomena associated with the struggle for survival occur. This competition is greatly intensifies in the root zone of plants, the rhizosphere, owing to the greater density of its micro population. The Experiment was carried out in the in laboratory of Department of Environmental Science, SHUATS, Allahabad to study the effect of Modern agricultural practices on soil microbial properties of Chaka block of Allahabad district” U.P., INDIA in 2016.

In the present investigation, four efficient Azotobacter isolates were screened for various biocontrol traits and evaluated for its biological deterrent activity against Fusarium solani. Maximum per cent inhibition of 60.25 was observed in AZT-R7 isolate followed by AZTY2 (59.17 %), AZT-J1 (57.77 %) and AZT-G4 (51.47 %). AZT-R7 recorded a maximum siderophore, IAA production and highest N2 fixation of 82.83 per cent, 100.75 μg 50 ml-1 and 10.33 mg g-1 , respectively.

Use of nitrogen fixing and phosphate solubilizing microorganisms (biofertilizers) has become an important aspect of pulse crops production technology. The efficiency of these microorganisms differs widely in accruing the benefits of their application in crops. Ten Mesorhizobium isolates having various plant growth promoting (PGP) traits including phosphate solubilization were screened for their symbiotic efficiency in terms of root nodulation, plant dry matter production, nitrogen and phosphorus content and nitrogen fixation by chickpea plant in a field experiment during 2015-16.

Laboratory experiments were conducted to isolate screen and select the efficient P-solubilizing fungal isolates from maize rhizosphere in the districts of Northern Karnataka. 21 P-solubilizing fungal isolates were obtained from the soil samples and were screened for phosphorus solubilizing ability on Pikovskaya’s agar and broth M-10(1) showed highest phosphorus solubilizing activity. Five efficient isolates were selected and assessed for other functional activities such as zinc and potassium solubilization, phytohormone production (IAA and GA3) and cellulolytic activity.

Lentil is one of the important legume crop widely grown in India. The availability of low phosphorous in soil is one the major concern for the production of legume crop in the country. Thus, the present study was aimed to evaluate the plant growth promoting efficiency of phosphate solubilizing Chryseobacterium sp. PSR 10 with different doses of inorganic fertilizers (N and P) on lentil growth and yield under field conditions. The phosphate solubilizing potential of this bacterial strain through In vitro tricalcium phosphate solubilization in NBRI-BPB broth medium was 210.43µgml-1 .

Cluster bean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba L.) is an important legume crop of India which can thrive well in adverse conditions. Despite of the fact that P is abundant in the soil it cannot be assessed by plants. Bacteria like rhizobium isolated from root nodules have potential to solublize the insoluble phosphorus. Thus, it plays a vital role in enhancing the phosphorus availability and overcoming phosphorus deficiency through its transformations into available form and thereby enhancing the agricultural productivity in a sustainable way.
