In this study, some enzymology parameters and some antibiotics affecting the enzyme activity of 6- phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6PGD) extracted from t the livers of fish from Lake Van (Chalcalburnus tarichi) were investigated because it is an important enzyme-producing NADPH, a reductive power, protecting the cell against the oxidative agents by producing reduced glutathione. The crude enzyme solution was obtained by using the affinity chromatography method.

This review summarizes the literature on the preventive and curative options for the control and treatment of histomoniasis. Two main approaches to the prophylaxis of the disease were found, which included chemotherapies and plant substrate products. Histostat-50 and paromomycin were the only available drugs that showed antihistomonal activity despite some concern about their threat to human health and antibiotic resistance. None of the plant substrate products provided potential protection to birds against blackhead disease.

The present study aimed to explore the antibacterial activity of some seaweed extracts against urinary tract (UTI) infectious bacteria. To compare the activity of these extracts as natural drug sources with the standard synthetic antibiotics against multidrug resistant (MDR) isolates. Finally, to compare the virulence gene profiles of the UTI isolates and detect the effect of seaweeds treatment on their virulence activities.

A novel Streptomyces sp. Ru87 was isolated from Egyptian soil and showed significant inhibition activities against a number of food and blood borne pathogens. Morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics showed that Ru87 belongs to genus Streptomyces. 16 S rRNA gene sequence (KY775360), showed 98% identity with Streptomyces cacaoi strain NBRC 12748. However, phylogenetic analysis indicated that it is distinct from the known species. A cultured extract of this strain inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and some other foodborne and blood borne pathogens.

The continuous presence of the pathogen in the orchard throughout the season has led to many fold speculations on possible survival of the pathogen on some alternate hosts grown in and around the garden. Severity of incidence and losses varies among different isolates and influenced by existing climatic conditions and geographical distribution (Mondal and Sharma, 2009; Mondal and Singh, 2009; Petersen et al., 2007; Mondal et al., 2012).

This article presents a study of the bacteria bioremediation characters and their heavy metal and antibiotic tolerance from the petroleum contaminated soil located in industrialized areas of Chhattisgarh, India. Soil sediments were characterized by FTIR for the presence of aromatic compounds and further the heterotrophic and fuel degrader counts was estimated. The strains characterized were predominantly from the Bacillus species which showed mixed resistance patterns against antibiotics and heavy metals.

Evaluation of antimicrobial potential of juices of some common citrus and non-citrus fruits of India
Worldwide indiscriminate uses of antibiotics to control pathogenic bacteria have led to the spread of the resistant strains of microorganisms making treatment of bacterial infections by these drugs difficult. Thus scientists are in search of safe alternative therapies against these dangerous and even life threatening pathogens. Plants produce many phytochemicals having antimicrobial properties.

Antibacterial activities of Black pepper fruit extract were studied against some bacterial strains as- Pseudomonas fluorescens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, and Bacillus subtilis. The black pepper fruit extracts were prepared in four organic solvents as methanol, ethyl acetate, chloroform and benzene. Effectiveness against bacterial strains showed by all extract (which prepared by organic solvent) but the benzene extract showed the maximum growth inhibition 81.20% against Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria at 100µl/ml extract concentration.

Honey has been used for various purposes including treatment of some diseases locally especially in wounds and upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs). There is paucity of information on the scientific basis for the use of honey in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections caused by bacteria. This study was carried out to determine antibacterial activities of different brands of honey marketed in Ado-Ekiti and relate with those of some orthodox antibiotics used in the treatment of URTIs.

The study was to investigate the antibacterial activity of some medicinal plants against Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) causing pathogens. Bacteria isolated from the UTI infected patients were characterized by microscopic, staining and morphological and biochemical evaluations. Crude extracts of the selected medicinal plants prepared were checking their antibacterial activity against the bacteria isolated from UTI infected patients. The zone of inhibitions was compared with the zone of inhibition of standard antibiotics.

The increased frequency in clinically observed cases of antibiotic resistance has been attributed to many factors such as the misuse and overuse of antibiotics since in some countries, antibiotics are sold over the counter without a prescription, the large quantities of antibiotic waste produced from livestock rearing, overconfidence in human control over infectious diseases and the continued decline in the number of newly approved antibiotics.

This study was conducted to see the antimicrobial activity of aqueous extract of garlic (Allium sativum) and ginger (Zingiber officinale) against E. coli and Staphylococcus bacterial species using agar diffusion assay with some commonly using antibiotics. The present study showed the potent antimicrobial activity against different concentration of ginger 100%, 50% and 25% the zone of inhibition was 20, 15 and 13 mm for E. coli, and 15, 12 and 10 mm for Staphylococcus respectively. While the there was no zone formation for 100%, 50% and 25% of garlic extract for the E. coli and Staphylococcus.

Microorganisms produce various pigments like carotenoids, melanin’s, flavins, monascins, violacein and indigo. Carotenoids are a group of bioactive compounds and are responsible for bright yellow, orange, red pigments of various plants, microorganisms and animals and are widely distributed in nature. These pigments have an important function to act as protective agents against oxidative damage. Recently carotenoids have attracted greater attention due to the beneficial role on human health.

The antimicrobial activity of bacteria isolated from fermenting cocoa water at a local farm at Supare-Akoko Ondo State, Nigeria against selected enteropathogenic bacteria was investigated. The fermentation was monitored for three days while the antimicrobial activity of the predominant isolates was evaluated using agar well diffusion method. The selected organisms were Klebsiella, pneumonia, Salmonella paratyphii, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus mirabillis, Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis.

Coumarin and its derivatives are heterocyclic compounds which gives toxic effects when it is used in higher quantity. In lower amount it is also toxic to marine plants and animals like fish, phytoplanktons, zooplanktons etc. According to various data it is confirmed that coumarin can be harmful for human being also though it is used in cosmetics, pharmaceutical industries and various medicines like anti-cancer and anti-coagulant.

Multidrug-resistant bacterial strains are becoming a serious problem. Therefore, the application of natural antimicrobial agents from plant extracts combined with antibiotics to overcome this problem is of major importance. The antimicrobial activity of five plants (Rosemary, Marjoram, Mint, Dill and Neem) methanol extract prepared by ultrasonicassisted (UAE) combined with antibiotics (amoxicillin, doxycycline, gentamicin and difloxacin) against 41 Salmonella poultry isolates was tested using in vitro methods.

Mastitis is one of the major factors obstructing the progress of the dairy industry. The use of antibiotics has been related with antibiotic-resistant pathogens. Consequently, several studies have been done in order to find natural alternatives. One of these alternatives is propolis which has been identified as an appropriate option according to recent studies of antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiprotozoal activity.
