Study aim to evaluate the effect of chlorpyrifos on several metabolic and stress related parameters associated with pesticide resistance. The experiment was conducted at Indian Institute of Soil Science (ICAR), Bhopal (MP) during 2015-2016, comprising four concentrations of pesticide chlorpyrifos viz. 0%, 0.25%, 0.75% and 1.25%. The commencement of foliar treatment applied on vegetative phase i.e., 30, 45 and 60 days after sowing on soybean (Kharif) and wheat (rabi).

Cereals are generally regarded as the “staff of life”. Wheat, rice and maize are the major cereals constituting the staple diet of the majority of the world population among which wheat is counted among the „big three‟ cereal crops. Zero tillage enables farmers to sow wheat in left optimum moisture with good germination capacity and increases soil aggregates due to minimal disturbance of soil structure/texture. The present experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2016-17 at agronomy farm of BAU, Sabour, Bihar.

Agricultural dusts are generated due to crop production activities such as ploughing, seed bed preparation, sowing, harvesting and threshing. The present study was undertaken for evaluation of organic and inorganic dust concentration in different agricultural operations in Wheat crop cultivation. The dust concentration at two locations (near to operator seat on tractor and at by-stander position) for ploughing, seed bed preparation, sowing and harvesting operations. Whereas, the dust concentration for threshing operation were taken at three locations viz.

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season 2016-17 at Farm Research Centre, College of Forestry, SHUATS, Allahabad to calculate agro-meteorological indices of wheat crop under three date of sowing i.e. 5th November, 15th November and 25th November and three variety i.e. HD-2967, PBW-502, PBW-154. Wheat crop sown on 5th November utilised more thermal and heat units as compared to 15th November and 25th November sown crops. The shortening of the duration of the crop sown late was due to forced maturity because of higher temperature during reproductive phase of the crop.

Field experiment was conducted on “Effect of climatic factor and date of sowing on wheat crop in Allahabad condition, Uttar Pradesh” at Forest Nursery, College of Forestry, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad, (U.P.). The objective of this research was to find out the role of date of sowing and climatic factors on different stages in wheat crop. The result of study indicated that after date of sowing, the maximum germination of seed was observed within 1-7 days and total 78 % of germination achieved.

Wheat being the most widely used staple food throughout the world requires sustainable increment in productivity. Although mechanization in agriculture in developed countries helped in overcoming different adversities, in Indian sub-continent it is not an easy task. Practices associated with wheat sowing i.e. time, seed rate and depth, spacing, seed treatment are of immense importance in achieving a higher yield of the crop by utilizing available material inputs and environmental resources.

One hundred eighty five chickpea entries received from AICRP (All India Coordinated Research Project) on Chickpea, were evaluated at Raipur under field condition during the year 2016-17 to identify sources of genetic resistant against collar rot disease incited by the fungus Sclerotium rolfsii. The fungus was isolated from diseased chickpea plants collected from research farm at seedling and vegetative stage of the crop, purified and maintained on PDA for further screening process.

Field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. The experiment was conducted in split plot design on wheat variety UP-2565 to study phenological development and yield of wheat in relation to sowing dates, seed priming and foliar nutrition. Main plot treatments consisted of two sowing date i.e. timely (November 28) and late (December 28) and seed priming with 2.0% KCl for 12 hours and non-primed seed. Sub plot treatment consisted of foliar treatment including foliar spray of 0.

Sowing is one of the important agricultural operations for raising crops. After harvest of paddy, if there is deficit moisture in the soil at the time of sowing of wheat, the germination gets affected leading to loss of yield. Handling of water treated seeds by seed drill may open a new gate of opportunities for mechanized sowing of wheat under water stressed conditions, which was the prime objective of the study.

Intending to scrutinise the effect of zinc nutrition in mitigating heat stress in late sown wheat crop, an experiment was conducted at Norman E. Borlaug crop research centre and Department of Plant Physiology, CBSH, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. Effect of three different Zn treatments i.e soil ZnSO4 treatment (T1), foliar ZnSO4 spray (T2) and soil ZnSO4 treatment+foliar ZnSO4 spray (T3) were studied on three varieties of wheat varieties i.e, UP 2425 (V1), UP 2565 (V2) and HD 3059 (V3) sown at late sown conditions i.

Rice-Wheat cropping system pre-dominated in the India covering an area of about 10.5 million hectare. Adverse effect of continuous puddling in rice field forced scientists to search for other methods of rice establishment like direct seeding; machines transplanted and dry seeding with ZT machine and wheat by zero tillage etc. In a 3‐year study, we assessed the effects of crop establishment methods in participatory mode on farmers’ field through on farm on productivity and profitability in a rice–wheat (RW) system at Basti, Siddharthnagar and Gorakhpur district of U.P.

A field experiment was conducted at research farm of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu on sandy loam soil of Sub-tropical zone of Jammu division to investigate the effect of sowing dates and genotypes on growth, yield and nitrogen uptake of durum wheat (Triticum durum) for two consecutive rabi seasons. The treatments comprised of two sowing dates viz. D1-normal sown and D2-late sown in the main plot, and four genotypes viz. PBW-34, PDW-233, WH-896 and PBW-343 in the sub plots were evaluated under split plot design with three replications.

Grain yields were linearly increased at 100% ETo while maximum IWUE was achieved at 80% ETo. Results suggest that the use of either on-farm priming or hydropriming of seeds for 12 h can be helpful in improving grain yields in late-sown wheat under both optimum as well as limited water conditions.
