Ebook "Energy transfer dynamics in biomaterial systems (Springer series in chemical physics, Volume 93)" summarizes recent progress in this direction, focusing on the role of quantum dynamical phenomena in biological and nanostructured systems. The book grew out of a workshop that was held in October 2007 in Paris on the topic of “Energy flow dynamics in biomaterial systems”.

This paper investigates whether this is the case for 60 Vietnamese provinces for the time-period 1999-2010, using a system-GMM estimator and a Solow growth model augmented with human and physical capital and spatial lag covariates. We report that spatial dependence is a significant determinant of growth and conditional convergence in Vietnamese provinces. We also demonstrate that the rate of convergence decreases as the distancebetween neighbouring provinces increases.

This paper aims to investigate the locational determi-nants of FDI in 62 Vietnamese provinces and whether spatial dependence is a significant factor that both researchers and policy-makers should take into account. We report that province-specific per- capita income, secondary education enrolment, labor costs, openness to trade, and domestic investment effect FDI directly within the province it self and have indirect effects on FDI in neighboring provinces.

The research "Mutual influence between localities in the red river delta region in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI)" results show that: market size, labor quality, labor costs, road infrastructure, the enterprise convergence level, urbanization, quality of economic governance have has a direct effect on attracting FDI inflows to each locality. In addition, labor quality, road infrastructure, enterprise convergence level of a locality also affect neighboring localities in attracting FDI.

The paper shows a relationship among three main joint sets, existing in the quarries, influencing the size and shape of a stone block generated by intersections of these joint sets. Each joint set is characterized by dip, dip direction, and spacings.

This study investigates the static bending and free vibration behaviour of Multi-directional Functionally Graded plates having a variable thickness. With this regard, the third-order shear deformation plate theory is used to describe the kinematic relation. Material properties of MFGM are assumed to be graded in spatial direction within the plate’s volume and the effective material properties are calculated based on the power-law approach.

The research "A Robust Approach to Stereoscopic 3-D Video Watermarking Using Adaptive Hysteresis Noise Gate" aims to introduce an alternative approach to watermarking stereoscopic threedimensional (S3-D) video using a dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DT-CWT) with an adaptive hysteresis noise gate or NG-DCWT for short. The DT-CWT has demonstrated superior performance in video watermarking when compared with direct spatial watermark embedding techniques, as well as other traditional frequency-based approaches.

Response guided treatment in breast cancer is highly desirable, but the effectiveness is only estab‑ lished based on residual cellularity from histopathological analysis after surgery. Tubule formation, a key component of grading score, is directly associated with cellularity, with significant implications on prognosis.

The best-performing model was the first test, indicating that direct input of the screened parameters was the ideal modelling process. This test had the lowest corrected Akaike Information Criterion (160.01), the highest percentage of deviance explained (46.18%), lowest spatial autocorrelation of residuals (0.1122) and transformed residuals (0.2827), highest success accuracy (91.24%), and second-best prediction accuracy (75.15%).

Chromatin interactions are important for gene regulation and cellular specialization. Emerging evidence suggests many-body spatial interactions play important roles in condensing super-enhancer regions into a cohesive transcriptional apparatus. Chromosome conformation studies using Hi-C are limited to pairwise, population-averaged interactions; therefore unsuitable for direct assessment of many-body interactions.

Gold nanochannels were prepared by plating electrolessly gold within the pores of polycarbonate filter membranes (PCTMs). These PCTMs with cylindrical Au nanotubules of uniform radius and high density can be used as a convenient model system to investigate the mechanism of particle transport through nanotubules. The transport properties of phenol through a modified Au nanotubule membrane were studied.

This paper proposes a method to solve for closed-form analytical solutions of the free vibration problems of orthotropic rectangular thin plates with arbitrary homogeneous boundary conditions. This proposed method is called the extended separation-of-variable method, in which the mode functions are in a separation-of-variable form, and the frequencies in two spatial directions are mathematically independent of each other.
