  • In the study "Building a 3D information model for underground coal mines" a 3D information model for a mine is built using BIM. The Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard is used to define the mining information model. Point clouds collected by Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) provide geometric and attributive information for building BIM models. This information model was applied to the NUI BEO underground coal mine. The information model was built for important structures of the mine, including the mine shaft and tunnels.

  • The research "Detection of land surface temperature change in coal mining area using remote sensing and GIS techniques - A case study in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam" explores Land Surface Temperature (LST), which represents the energy exchange between the land surface and the atmosphere, as well as with the biosphere. Variations in surface temperature can lead to the formation of heat islands characterized by higher temperatures compared to surrounding areas.

  • The autoplaque or autolysis of bacterial cell influences the evolutionary potential of clinically important bacteria. It serves as a selection pressure on a bacterial community and provides social goods (nutrients, secondary metabolites, free DNA) in environment. Therefore, it has a major impact on the ecological fitness of microbial communities; however its prevalence in microbial communities of degraded ecosystems is not known.

  • Spatial or territorial organization is one of effective tools for sustainable land use. Spatial organization of land use and environmental protection by functional sub-areas is performed on the basis of comprehensive and integrated research on characteristics and differentiation laws of natural components and landscapes, socio-economic factors, the present status and trend of environmental changes as well as the structures and functions of sub-areas. Uong Bi is a national center for tourism, coal mining and thermal power production.
