Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve provide many ecosystem services, such as provisioning, regulating, cultural, and supporting services for the urban areas as well as wildlife of suburban areas in Ho Chi Minh City and the nearby ecosystems. In this study, the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index - NDVI at 10 m resolution from 2015 to 2023 of Can Gio was obtained from the Copernicus Sentinel-2 database using Google Earth Engine - GEE.

Bài giảng Phân tích không gian I (Basic Spatial Analysis) - Bài 7: Phân tích hình mẫu không gian. Những nội dung chính được trình bày trong chương này gồm có: Hình mẫu không gian là gì? (what is spatial pattern?), tại sao cần phân tích hình mẫu không gian (why analyze spatial pattern?), chỉ số nhận diện hình mẫu không gian toàn cục (global statistics to identify spatial patterns), chỉ số nhận diện phân cụm cục bộ (local statistics to identify clusters).

Forest fires present a significant threat to the tropical forest ecosystem in the northwestern region of Vietnam. Our study aimed to assess the impacts of environmental factors on forest fire occurrence and to map forest fire probability for the whole region. The forest fire occurrence data over the period 2003–2016, environmental factors (climate, fuel condition, topography, and human activity), and the MaxEnt approach were used for this study.

Structural and spatial patterns of tree species in forests are important indicators to explain which underlying mechanisms or processes regulating forest structure. In this article, techniques of spatial point pattern analysis were used to characterize structural and spatial patterns of two secondary rain forest stands in Cuc phuong National park, Vietnam.

The cystic ®brosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene shows a complex pattern of expression, with temporal and spatial regulation that is not accounted for by elements in the promoter. One approach to identifying the regulatory elements forCFTRis the mapping of DNase I hypersensitive sites (DHS) within the locus. We previously identi®ed at least 12 clusters of DHS across theCFTRgene andhere further evaluateDHS in introns 2, 3, 10, 16, 17a, 18, 20 and 21 to assess their functional importance in regulation ofCFTRgene expression. ...

Prion diseases are characterized by the accumulation of a pathogenic mis-folded form of a prion protein (PrP) encoded by the Prnpgene in humans. In the present study in zebrafish, two transcripts and the corresponding genes encoding prion proteins, PrP1 and PrP2, related to human PrP have been characterized with a relatively divergent deduced amino acid sequence, but a well preserved overall organization of structural prion pro-tein motifs.

Notch signaling controls spatial patterning and cell-fate decisions in all metazoans. Mutations inJAG1, one of the five Notch ligands in man, have been associated with Alagille syndrome and with a familial form of tetral-ogy of Fallot. A specific G274D mutation in the second epidermal growth factor repeat of the Jagged-1 was found to correlate with tetralogy of Fallot symptoms but not with usual Alagille syndrome phenotypes.

Normalization of tumor blood vessels due to inhibition of VEGF signaling. A. Blood vessels in normal tissues exhibit a regular hierarchical branching pattern that delivers blood to tissues in a spatially and temporally efficient manner to meet the metabolic needs of the tissue (top). At the microscopic level, tight junctions are maintained between endothelial cells (EC), which are adherent to a thick and evenly distributed basement membrane (BM). Pericytes form a surrounding layer that provides trophic signals to the EC and helps maintain proper vessel tone.

Transcriptional Activation and Repression Every gene is controlled uniquely, whether in its spatial or temporal pattern of expression or in its response to extracellular signals. It is estimated that transcription factors account for ~30% of expressed genes. A growing number of identified genetic diseases involve transcription factors (Table 62-2). The MODY (maturity-onset diabetes of the young) disorders are representative of this group of diseases; mutations in several different islet cell–specific transcription factors cause various forms of MODY (Chap. 338).

Antenna Segment Tradeoffs The antenna segment establishes the available RF bands. Although much research has been applied toward creating an “all-band” antenna, multiband radios generally require at least one antenna per decade of RF band (e.g., HF, VHF, UHF, SHF, etc.). In addition, the antenna determines the directional properties of the receiving system. Sectorized antennas, static beamforming arrays, and adaptive beamforming arrays (smart antennas) each have different spatial and temporal properties, the most significant of which is the pattern of transmit and/or receive gain....

Purpose: To understand the importance of working together. Time: 45 minutes Materials: Six envelopes labeled A, B, C, D, E, and F. In each envelope is a square cut into 5 pieces- use hard cardboard to cut the patterns. Note: This is for a class size of 30 students. If you have over 40 students, increase the number of squares or cut pieces per square.
