The availability of extensive genomic information and content has spawned an era of high-throughput screening that is generating large sets of func-tional genomic data. In particular, the need to understand the biochemical wiring within a cell has introduced novel approaches to map the intricate networks of biological interactions arising from the interactions of proteins.

The wealth of available genomic data has spawned a corresponding interest in computational methods that can impart biological meaning and context to these experiments. Traditional computational methods have drawn rela-tionships between pairs of proteins or genes based on notions of equality or similarity between their patterns of occurrence or behavior. For exam-ple, two genes displaying similar variation in expression, over a number of experiments, may be predicted to be functionally related.

The experiments were implemented during the spawning season from April to October 2007 in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa under laboratory conditions. There were no significant differences of embryo development time when eggs were incubated at salinity of 20 ppt and 30 ppt. The salinity of 10 ppt was not suitable for embryo development. The surival rate of 3 - day larvae at 30 ppt group was higher than that of 20 ppt group.

A study was carried out from 3/2006 to 8/2007 at Experimental Farm for Aquaculture of Nong Lam University (NLU) in HCM City. The result of the study shows that: Mystus mysticetus is able to be successfully induced spawning by LH-RHa at suitable doses 120 or 140µg + 10mg DOM /kg of female. Spawning rate is 100%. Latency time oscillates 5 – 7 hours at 28 – 300C and hatching time ranges from 18 to 20 hours at 28-30oC.

three groups of 40 perch breeders were reared in order to study the effects of 3 different levels of dietary n-3 and n-6 fatty acids on egg quality. two experimental diets, r1 and r2 (n-3/n-6 = 0.13 and 35.54, respectively), were compared to one commercial food, r3 (n-3/n-6 = 3.48). spawning and fertilization rates were high for diets r1 and r3, which displayed a n-3/n-6 ratio of 0.77 and 2.34 in the eggs, respectively, by comparison with r2 (n-3/n-6 = 4.87), which produced low reproductive performances. We can conclude that dietary n-3 and n-6 FA levels influence egg and larval...

Catfish are retained in a holding net overnight to eliminate small catfish. Fish are crowded for loading onto the transport truck. A crew of 5 can load 15,000 kg of fish in 1 hour. The world angling record is 26.4kg caught in santee cooper reservoir, south carolina. Catfish are grown in 4 to 10 ha earthen ponds with flat bottoms.

Blood clam (Scapharca subcrenata) was collected monthly from Pusan, Korea to investigate the reproductive cycle and the occurrence of mud worm (Polydora sp.). Histological observation showed that S. subcrenata started their gametogensesis as early as March when environmental temperature increased. Most of clams underwent ripe stage in June and some of observed samples already spawned in July.
