The present investigation was carried out with five different packaging material T1 (LDPE), T2 (HDPE), T3 (Shrink), T4 and T5 (Cling) for increasing the shelf life of sapota at different temperature and ambient temperature. The effect of packaging material on physiological loss in weight, decay loss, pulp: peel ratio, fruit length, fruit width, and fruit shape index, specific gravity was observed.

Soya milk was used as alternative of cow and buffalo milk due to problems with intolerance and allergy. Soya milk shake was prepared from different proportions of soya milk standardized with cardamom essence and custard apple pulp i.e. (T1) 95:05, (T2) 90:10 and (T3) 85:15. The overall acceptability of custard apple milk shake of treatments T1, T2 and T3 were 8.16, 8.35 and 7.65, respectively determined by sensory evaluation. It was observed that the custard apple soya milk shake prepared from 90 parts of soya milk and 10 parts of custard apple pulp i.e.

The present study aimed at enhancing the shelf life of pear fruits. The fruits of pear varieties namely Patharnakh, Kashmirinakh and Baggugosha were stored under zero energy cool chamber (ZECC) storage using different types of packaging materials i.e. corrugated fiber board boxes (CFB), individual fruit packing and in 1 kg packing in polyethylene (PE) bags of 0.01 mm and 0.05 mm thickness. Irrespective of the treatments, a continuous decrease in specific gravity of the fruits was observed with the lapse of time. Of the three varieties, the Patharnakh fruits had maximum shelf life.
