Ebook "Water treatment technologies for the removal of high-toxicity pollutants" process requires interdisciplinary approach; it is critically important to stimulate interactions between medical doctors, chemists, physicist, materials scientists, engineers and policy makers, which are already experienced in their specific areas. It is also our ethical obligation to preserve existing water resources and existing eco systems enhancing their biodiversity.

This study aimed to assess the acute and subchronic toxicity of Pyridostigmine bromide 90 mg extended-release tablets in experimental animals. Subjects and methods: Pyridostigmine bromide 90 mg extended-release tablets were prepared complying in-house specifications. Acute oral toxicity (LD50) was determined in white mice using the Litchfield-Wilcoxon method. Subchronic toxicity was assessed in rabbits following OECD guidelines.

Muscarinic agonists are indicated for the treatment of many conditions including ileus, urinary retention, glaucoma, and Sjögren’s syndrome. Due to their lack of tissue specificity, these drugs can lead to undesirable side effects at of-target sites and may be potentiated by supplements that impact the half-life of these drugs.

Acid soil is a serious limitation to crop production all over the world. Toxic aluminium (Al) cations in acid soil inhibit root growth and reduce yield. Although a gene tolerant to acid soil has been identified, it has not been used in malting barley breeding, which is partly due to the acid soil tolerance gene being linked to unfavorable malting quality traits.

In the current study, the effect of USP7 on pluripotency maintenance of mouse ESCs (mESCs) has been investigated with the help of cell viability assay, morphological analysis, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining, qPCR analysis, and Western Blotting. 600 nM P5091 application, which showed no significant toxicity in mESCs, increased the total ubiquitinated protein amount as a proof of the accomplishment of proper USP7 inhibition.

Though it is toxic to humans, dichlorvos is a widely used chemical pesticide and plays an important role in the control of plant pests. The application of a combination of the biocontrol agent Trichoderma with dichlorvos may reduce the need for chemical pesticides. Therefore, revealing the specific molecular mechanism of Trichoderma tolerance to dichlorvos has become particularly important.

Zebrafish is a popular animal model used for high-throughput screening of chemical hazards, however, investigations of transcriptomic mechanisms of toxicity are still needed. Here, our goal was to identify genes and biological pathways that Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor 2 (AHR2) Activators and flame retardant chemicals (FRCs) alter in developing zebrafish.

A significant mechanism of salt-tolerance in rice is the ability to remove Na+ and Cl− in the leaf sheath, which limits the entry of these toxic ions into the leaf blade. The leaf sheath removes Na+ mainly in the basal parts, and Cl− mainly in the apical parts.

Lead (Pb) is a harmful pollutant that disrupts normal functions from the cell to organ levels. Salix babylonica is characterized by high biomass productivity, high transpiration rates, and species specific Pb. Better understanding the accumulating and transporting Pb capability in shoots and roots of S. babylonica, the toxic effects of Pb and the subcellular distribution of Pb is very important.

NipahVirus (NiV) is a zoonotic Virus which infects several animals and humans worldwide. Currently, there is no specific drug or vaccine to treat or control NiV infections. The present study is aimed to identify novel inhibitors of NiV from Indian medicinal plants. Glycoprotein was taken as target protein. Around 600 phytocompounds were taken from 10 Indian medicinal plants and subjected to Virtual Screening by using Libdock module from Discovery Studio 4.0. From these, the best 20 compounds were screened and evaluated for their Pharmacokinetic properties by using ADMETSAR and pKCSM tools.

Aberrantly activated Notch signaling has been found in more than 50% of patients with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Current strategies that employ γ-secretase inhibitors (GSIs) to target Notch activation have not been successful. Many limitations, such as non-Notch specificity, dose-limiting gastrointestinal toxicity and GSI resistance, have prompted an urgent need for more effective Notch signaling inhibitors for T-ALL treatment.

Multiple myeloma is an incurable cancer with a rising incidence globally. Less toxic treatments are increasingly available, so patients are living longer and treatment decisions are increasingly guided by QOL concerns. There is no QOL assessment tool designed specifically for use in the clinical care of people with myeloma.

Dietary selenium supplementation in the poultry has been regularly practiced using the inorganic and organic forms to enhance the growth and antioxidant defence system. These forms have the limitations of having narrow margin of safety and non specific binding to tissue proteins, hence an alternate form of selenium i.e. nano selenium having greater potential as poultry and livestock feed supplement with higher bioavailability, higher margin of safety and seven fold lower acute toxicity was prepared using starch, ascorbic acid and bovine serum albumin.

The anti-tumour activity of cisplatin is thought to be a result of its capacity to form DNA adducts which prevent cellular processes such as DNA replication and transcription. These DNA adducts can effectively induce cancer cell death, however, there are a range of clinical side effects and drug resistance issues associated with its use.
