Transcriptome profiling of porcine testis tissue reveals genes related to sperm hyperactive motility
The aim of this study was to use RNA sequencing to investigate gene expression differences in testis tissue from Landrace and Duroc boars with high and low levels of sperm hyperactive motility. Boars with divergent phenotypes were selected based on their sperm hyperactivity values at the day of ejaculation (day 0) (contrasts (i) and (ii) for Landrace and Duroc, respectively) and on their change in hyperactivity between day 0 and after 96 h liquid storage at 18 °C (contrast (iii)).

There are few studies evaluating the genetic diversity of U. diversum strains and their influence on the immune response in cattle.

This study aimed to estimate the effect of three concentrations (75 µg/mL, 150 µg/mL and 300 µg/mL) of the European raspberry (Rubus iadeus) on the selected quality parameters of bovine spermatozoa after 0h, 2h, and 24h of in vitro culture. Sperm motility was evaluated using the Computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA) system. The mitochondrial activity was detected by the metabolic (MTT) assay.

Many genes important for reproductive performance are shared by both sexes. However, fecundity indices are primarily based on female parameters such as litter size. We examined a fertility mouse line (FL2), which has a considerably increased number of offspring and a total litter weight of 180% compared to a randomly bred control line (Ctrl) after more than 170 generations of breeding. In the present study, we investigated whether there might be a parallel evolution in males after more than 40 years of breeding in this outbred mouse model.

Striped bass (Morone saxatilis) spermatozoa are used to fertilize in vitro the eggs of white bass (M. chrysops) to produce the preferred hybrid for the striped bass aquaculture industry. Currently, only one source of domestic striped bass juveniles is available to growers that is not obtained from wild-caught parents and is thus devoid of any genetic improvement in phenotypic traits of importance to aquaculture.

The objective of the research was to study the protein content and electrophoretic profile of specific fractions of Large White Yorkshire (LWY) boar semen. Sperm rich fractions (SRF) of semen were collected from four sexually mature LWY boars as fractions of 10 mL each, by gloved hand method. For analysis, the first 10 mL of the SRF, rest of the SRF and sperm free fraction (SFF) were collected separately.
