Drought is an abiotic stress factor that negatively affects plant development and causes economic losses in plant production, and its effect is getting significant every day. Spinach contains a high amount of water and drought stress affects its development as well as causing changes in its biochemical contents. In this study, it is aimed to determine the changes in the morphological, physiological, and biochemical contents of spinach grown under deficit irrigation conditions in different stages of development.

Spinach is a good source of vitamins riboflavin and calcium and dietary fiber. Now a day plant growth regulators are playing a very important role in increasing yield, growth and improving the quality of crops. The experiment comprised seed treatments of plant growth regulators viz., Gibberllic Acid (GA3), Indole Acetic Acide (IAA), 2,3,5 Trido Benzoic Acid (TIBA) the observations were recorded on characters viz., germination (%), abnormal seedling (%), shoot length (cm), root length (cm), seedling length (cm), seedling dry weight (g) and seedling vigour index-I.

Seed germination and subsequent seedling growth define crucial steps for entry into the plant life cycle and proper seed germination is a basic prerequisite for getting a better crop yield. Hence standardization of hydropriming duration in spinach seeds is an important pre-requisite to improve physiological and biochemical parameters, therefore seeds were soaked in different time intervals from 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 hours.
