Aplastic anemia is an intractable disease characterized by pancytopenia, susceptibility to infection, and difficulty in achieving hemostasis. In patients with severe periodontal disease and aplastic anemia, spontaneous bleeding from the gingival tissue due to thrombocytopenia and during brushing is common, which may further exacerbate dental issues.

Hemorrhage is an uncommon complication of liposuction that may be trauma-induced by the cannula on the subcutaneous perforators. It usually resolves spontaneously with external compression and results in mild to moderate ecchymosis on the liposuction site. However, in sporadic cases, active bleeding may persist and require urgent intervention for hemostasis.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is sudden bleeding into the subarachnoid space. The most common cause of spontaneous SAH is a ruptured aneurysm. Symptoms include sudden, severe headache, usually with loss or impairment of consciousness. It has a lot of dangerous complications especially re-bleeding and vasospasm which are the major causes of death and disability. Objective: To study on clinical characteristics, computed tomography brain imaging, causes and complications of subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Spontaneous retroperitoneal hematoma is defined as bleeding in the retroperitoneal space without any triggers such as trauma, invasive procedures, and abdominal aortic aneurysm. The mortality rate of spontaneous retroperitoneal hematoma is so high that the optimal treatment timing needs to be carefully judged on the basis of detailed evaluation, and management algorithm with clear criteria.

Bovine neonatal pancytopenia (BNP) is a haemorrhagic disease of neonatal calves. BNP was first described in Germany in 2009, later on also in other European countries, and in New Zealand in 2011. The disease is characterised by spontaneous bleeding, pancytopaenia in the bone marrow, and a high case fatality ratio.

The anesthesia of patients with large mediastinal mass is at high-risk. Avoidance of general anesthesia in these patients is the safest option, if this is unavoidable, maintenance of spontaneous ventilation is the next safest technique. In these types of patients, it is not applicable to use double-lumen tube (DLT) to achieve one-lung ventilation (OLV) because the DLT has a larger diameter and is more rigid than single-lumen tube (SLT), so the mass may rupture and bleed during intubation.

Haemophilic arthropathy is a chronic and debilitating joint disease caused by recurrent spontaneous joint bleeds in patients with haemophilia. Understanding how characteristics of individual joint bleeds relate to the subsequent development of arthropathy could improve management and prevention of this joint disease.

Deficiencies of coagulation factors have been recognized for centuries. Patients with genetic deficiencies of plasma coagulation factors exhibit lifelong recurrent bleeding episodes into joints, muscles, and closed spaces, either spontaneously or following an injury. The most common inherited factor deficiencies are the hemophilias, X-linked diseases caused by deficiency of Factor (F) VIII (hemophilia A) or Factor IX (FIX, hemophilia B).

It is critical to identify this clinical picture and treat any active bleeding.

Clinical Manifestations Infection is acquired as the result of a break in the epithelium during sexual contact with an infected individual. After an incubation period of 4–7 days, the initial lesion—a papule with surrounding erythema—appears. In 2 or 3 days, the papule evolves into a pustule, which spontaneously ruptures and forms a sharply circumscribed ulcer that is generally not indurated (Fig. 139-2). The ulcers are painful and bleed easily; little or no inflammation of the surrounding skin is evident.
