Stability of litchi production

This study in aimed at growth and stability of litchi production in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar with specific objectives of determining trend in area, production and productivity of litchi. India is the second largest producer of litchi in the world after China. Presently in India, litchi is cultivated in an area about 74.40 thousand hectares with total production of 483.60 thousand metric tons and productivity of 6.50 metric tons / hectare. Bihar produces nearly cultivated in an area about 31.1 thousand hectares with a total production of 227 thousand metric tons and productivity of 7.
