The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) sorghum core collection contains 3011 accessions randomly selected from 77 countries. Genomic and phenotypic characterization of this core collection is necessary to encourage and facilitate its utilization in breeding programs and to improve conservation efforts.

The study was conducted at the Education and Research Farm of the Department of Botany, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra state during the kharif and rabi2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, to study the “Effect of seasons and plant spacings on quality parameters of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) genotypes”. The experiment was laid out in split plot design replicated three times. The main plot treatment consists of two seasons (kharif and rabi); however, sub plot treatments consist of eleven groundnut genotypes.

Agriculture is the most important sector of Indian Economy. Indian agriculture sector accounts for 18 per cent of India's gross domestic product (GDP) and provides employment to 50% of the countries workforce. Among cereals, Rice (Oryza sativa I.) is the most important cereal crop of the world both in respect to area and production. The total Rice production in the world is 496.22 million metric tons as estimated by the United states Department of Agriculture in April 2020 (USDA). India ranks second in rice production in the world with the production of 116.42 million metric tons.

The promising rice varieties were grown in different agro-ecological regions of Chhattisgarh state to study their adaptability to varying climatic and soil conditions. Yield data collected from Department of Agriculture (CG) of 10 rice varieties at 10 locations during kharif-2011-12 to 2013-14.

The investigation was carried out at Department of Plant Pathology, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. Wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cumini is a serious disease of cumin. Considering its regular occurrence and economic loss the wilt pathogen was selected for present investigation to generate the informations to find out the resistance of cultivars/lines. Out of fifteen varieties/lines tested one line (JC-2000-9) was found free from disease. The recommended varieties of Gujarat State viz., GC-2, GC-3 and GC-4 were found highly susceptible to F. oxysporum f. sp.

The present research study was undertaken to study the knowledge and utilization of diagnostic services provided by the State Department of Agriculture, Rajasthan among farm women and also to find out the constraints faced by farm women in utilization of these. The objective of the present study was to ascertain the attitude of farmers towards the agricultural extension system of the State Department of Agriculture. The sample consisted of randomly selected 90 farmers from 09 villages of three subdistricts of Udaipur who were regularly in contact with the department functionaries for the last 3 years. For measurement of attitude, Thurston’s equal appearing interval technique was used to construct the scale.

Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) is a registered society which involves key stakeholders to perform agriculture activities for sustainable agricultural development at district level. ATMA is having linkage with all the line departments, research institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations and agencies associated with agriculture development in the district. The study was carried out during 2016-17 in six southern districts of Karnataka state to analyze the attitude of extension field functionaries towards ATMA.

The present study was conducted in ten villages of Koppal District, Karnataka with an objective of to know the knowledge level of farmers on Farm Pond. For conducting the present study ten villages were selected randomly and fifteen respondents from each village were selected purposively to comprise a sample size of 150 respondents. It was observed that, 45.33 percentage of the farmers had the medium knowledge and 29.34 percent had low knowledge whereas 25.33 percent of the farmers had least knowledge on farm pond and majority of the farmers 57.

Agro-climatic characterization for Agro-climatic zone of Chhattisgarh was carried out in the Department of Agricultural Meteorology, I.G.K.V. Raipur to capture the agricultural and climatic features which in turn help for sustainable agriculture development in Chhattisgarh. A detailed study was carried out for Chhattisgarh state by considering the district wise rainfall for the period 1901-2010. When the rainfall was examined it was found that the rainfall was in decreasing trend in all the districts during the post- global warming period.

Professional fisheries education is a new branch of science, which is having tremendous potential sooner rather than later. A new era in the professional fisheries education in India started at the State Agricultural/Veterinary Universities with the establishment of first Fisheries College at Mangalore in 1969. Presently, there are thirty professional fisheries colleges in India. Professional fisheries graduates have employment opportunities in fisheries departments of Central and State Governments, fisheries research institutes, academic/ universities and so on.

A study was conducted to know the clientele served and type of extension functions emphasized by the extension personnel of public extension organizations in Hyderabad – Karnataka region of Karnataka during 2013-14. A sample of 38 extension personnel from Krishi Vigyan Kendras under University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur and 38 extension personnel from Raita Samparka Kendras under Karnataka State Department of Agriculture were selected for the study. The data was collected from the respondents using structured interview schedule developed for the study.

Ex- post facto research design was followed for carrying out the study in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Sample comprise of 120farmers randomly from four randomly selected mandals of Mahabunagar district which was a purposive selection. Two parameters namely extent of utilisation and extent of adoption were considered for the construction of utilisation index. To study the relevance of different aspects of each of DAATTC services judges were contacted. The aspects under each of the services whose values were more than one were finally selected.

The study was carried out in the two district of Tripura, viz., West Tripura and South Tripura with randomly selected 200 rice farmers from purposively selected 4 blocks of the districts. The State of Tripura is located between 22o 56” and 24o 32” North latitude and between 90o 09” and 92o 20” East latitude. Tripura is a landlocked State. System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method of paddy cultivation is important because it needs less seed, less water, less fertilizer and less attack of pest & disease but per hectare yield gain is more than traditional method of paddy cultivation.
