To determine the prevalence of intestinal parasites among school children belonged to different communities from urban, peri-urban and rural areas in Khurda district, Odisha, India. Stool samples were collected from the school children according to the standard procedures. All the stool samples were examined by the direct microscopic examination and by the formalin - ether concentration methods. A total of 1114 stool specimen were collected from different schools in 1995.

Aim of the study is to detect Cryptosporidium, a newly emerging parasite in malnourished children with and without diarrhea, using conventional methods and special staining techniques. A total of 727 children comprised of 497 malnourished and 230 normal children having with and without diarrhoea. Two consecutive samples were collected from each individual and one preserved using 10% formalin. Examination of helminthes and protozoan in the stool samples were done by direct wet mount method and by formalin ether sedimentation method.

In this study systematic bacteriological examination of aseptically collected 150 shrimp samples, 27 samples of hand swabs from fish handlers were collected from retail fish outlets, and 23 stool samples from patients suffered with digestive disturbances after consumption of seafood reported to private clinics, all from Navsari city were investigated. In this study, a patient who was hospitalized with severe anaemia in the department of Internal Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh is presented. The patient had fever, swelling of feet since 8 months and cough with expectoration since last 3 months along with significant weight loss three months prior to admission. Severe Iron deficiency anaemia was diagnosed in this patient by laboratory analysis. Patient did not improve despite being transfused with 2 units of packed RBC.

Present study was undertaken to assess the hygiene quality of the meat, milk and also its prevalence on human population. A total of 330 samples including, chicken meat (n=98), Chevon (n=82), raw milk samples (n=90) and human urine (n=56) and stool samples (n=4) Samples were aseptically collected from different districts of Chhattisgarh. This study was aimed to determine the prevalence of intestinal helminth parasites of local chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) from Lalitpur district, Nepal. It was carried out from February 2014 to March 2015. A total of 125 samples (93 alimentary canals of freshly killed chicken and 32 stool samples from ground and fowl runs) were collected. Out of 93 alimentary canals 17 were collected from free range chicken and 76 were from slaughtered house i.e. from poultry farm chicken. The faecal samples were collected in the sterile vials containing 2.5 percent potassium dichromate.
