Subcategory model

Bioimage classification is a fundamental problem for many important biological studies that require accurate cell phenotype recognition, subcellular localization, and histopathological classification. In this paper, we present a new bioimage classification method that can be generally applicable to a wide variety of classification problems.

This paper 1 decdbes a computational treatment of the semantics of relational nouns. It covers relational nouns such as "sister.and "commander; and focuses especially on a particular subcategory of them, called function nouns ('speed; "distance', "rating'). Relational nouns are usually viewed as either requiring non-compositional semantic interpretation, or causing an undesirable proliferation of syntactic rules. In contrast to this, we present a treatment which is both syntactically uniform and semantically compositional.

It is possible to measure effects of different covariables e.g. age, length of stay in Germany, etc. on the SMR and SIR by categorization, but this method is limited because of small sample sizes in subcategories. Another approach classically used in cohort studies is a Poisson regression model, which assesses the effects of different covariables simultaneously. It is based on the Poisson distribution, which is an approximation of the binomial distribution applied in large samples where the probability of the outcome is small.

This research examines how differences in the organization of brand information in memory between higher and lower knowledge consumers affects which brands are retrieved when consumers are provided with a usage situation. A spreading activation network model of memory is used to predict the results of an experiment where the usage situations were varied at encoding and repeated recall sessions.
