Successful surgical correction

Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is the most common cyanotic congenital heart disease that has low survival rate without surgical correction. This report is about a rare case of acute ST elevation myocardial infarction in a 46-year-old patient with uncorrected TOF that was successfully treated with low-dose intracoronary thrombolysis.

Pelvic fractures are rare in toddlers but are often associated with other injuries that make treatment difficult. Conservative treatment has been used with moderate success, but it is unclear if surgical correction could confer additional benefits and improve patient outcomes.

The present case report deals with surgical management of perosis/slipped tendon in a White Pekin Duck reported to Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, LUVAS Hisar. Also the present study concluded that perosis can be managed successfully in young ducks. Euthanasia may be necessary if the condition cannot be corrected.

A 14 months old male goat with growth on lower jaw was presented to the Bai Sakrabai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animal, an affiliated animal hospital to Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai. On thorough clinical examination, it was revealed that extensive growth on lower jaw was present since last two and half months. On palpation the growth was big in size, hard and firmly attached to lower jaw, hard, big in size like. The history from animal owner revealed that the growth was painless and progressively increased in size over a period of time.

An 18 month old cross bred heifer was brought to Veterinary Teaching Clinical Complex showing estrus behavior with congenitally fused vulvular labia. Two small opening of approximately 8mm and 2mm in diameter were observed at the dorsal and ventral commissure of vulva respectively. Surgical correction of the vulva with subsequent artificial insemination of the heifer was successfully accomplished.

Two splenic tumor cases of dogs were presented with distended abdomen. Both the dogs showed anorexia, lethargy and not responding to medical treatment. Blood examination showed low hemoglobin and platelet counts. The dogs were surgically operated for removal of very big spleen under Propofol and isoflurane anaesthesia. Haemoabdomen was observed during surgery. Post operatively they were treated with antibiotics and Tab. Prednisolone. Both the dogs recovered uneventfully and are still alive. Histopathological examination of masses reveled splenic haemangiosarcoma.

In this paper, we present a supervision system, consisting of seven 3D cameras, and the according shape cropping algorithm, which allows verifying the correct setup of surgical robots, detecting potential collisions between robots and their surroundings as well as monitoring the correctness of the robots’ motions. The system has already been successfully implemented, set up and evaluated.
