The genus Adonis L. is a member of Ranunculaceae and consists of perennial and annual herbaceous plants included in the tribe Adonideae under the subfamily Ranunculoideae. Botanically, Ranunculaceae comprises vital medicinal plants. Molecular markers are one of the most effective tools for exploring genetic variation that can enhance breeding efficiency. To identify the genetic diversity of 62 Adonis ecotypes collected from different regions in Turkey, the interprimer binding site (iPBS) retrotransposon system was used.

Due to the advancement in high throughput technology, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) is routinely being incorporated along with phenotypic information into genetic evaluation. However, this approach often cannot achieve high accuracy for some complex traits. It is possible that SNP markers are not sufficient to predict these traits due to the missing heritability caused by other genetic variations such as microsatellite and copy number variation (CNV), which have been shown to affect disease and complex traits in humans and other species.

Yield in chickpea is influenced by many different components including number of primary branches per plant, number of secondary branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed yield per plant and many other traits. All of these traits can potentially be improved through selection as long as there is sufficient genetic variation.

Keeping the importance of the crop and the aspects to be studied, the present investigation entitled “Genetic Character Variability Studies in Desi Chickpea (Cicer Arietinum L.) Genotypes)”was conducted in rabi2014-15 at the Research Farm of Agricultural Research Station, Ummedganj, Kota, Agricultural University, Kota to assess the variance revealed sufficient amount of variability present in the genotypes studied. Harvest index recorded maximum phenotypic range of variation followed by 100 seed weight, number of pods per plant, plant height and number of nodules per plant.

The experimental was carried out at Indian Institute of Rice Research Farm, ICRISAT, Patencheru, Hyderabad, Telangana, India, during Rabi, 2014-2015 in order to estimate genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance in two hundred genotypes of rice. Analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among the genotypes for all the characters indicating sufficient variability existed in the present material selected for the study.

Significant differences were observed among the genotypes for all the traits, indicated presence of sufficient variation. The estimates of PCV and GCV were high for first fruit producing node. Moderate PCV and GCV were noticed for days to 50 per cent flowering, plant height, fruit yield per plant, fruits per plant, nodes per plant and internodal length.

Genetic variation and association among nine characters were studied in 34 advanced breeding lines of groundnut for WUE and yield related traits during summer 2015. Higher estimates of PCV and GCV were recorded for Pod Yield per plant followed by Kernel Yield per plant and Pods per plant indicating the presence of sufficient variability between advanced breeding lines.

The diversity of rice germplasm is the base of rice improvement programmes. Various agromorphological traits of five randomly selected plans were recorded for the evaluation of 36 green super rice germplasm. Analysis of variance indicated difference among genotypes were highly significant for the entire traits under studied, this indicated that these genotypes have sufficient amount of variation.

Micronutrient malnutrition resulting from the dietary deficiency of important minerals such as Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn), Copper (Cu) and Manganese (Mn) in the staple food crops like pearl millet leads to ubiquitous food-related health problems. In context to this present investigation was undertaken to study the phenotypic diversity among 48 maintainer (B) and restorer lines (R) of pearl millet genotypes for grain micronutrients concentration, yield and agro-morphological traits using multivariate approach.

An experiment was conducted during kharif 2017-18 to generate information on yield and yield contributing traits in elite genotypes of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.). The present investigation was undertaken to study the genetic variability for cane yield (t/ha), commercial cane sugar (t/ha), sucrose % in juice, brix % in juice, CCS % in juice, number of millable canes (0,000 / ha), stalk length (m), stalk diameter (cm) and single cane weight (Kg) at harvesting stage. The significant differences were observed for all the traits studied.

Twenty five (25) flax type linseed genotypes taken from AICRP on linseed, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) along with three checks (Surabhi, R-552, RLC-92) were evaluated for variability among yield and yield contributing traits in yellow seeded linseed at Raipur (C.G.). Analysis of variance implied that significant differences exist among the genotypes exist for all the characters under study. The magnitude of PCV was higher than the corresponding GCV for all the traits. Close correspondence between phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation were observed i.e.

Genetic diversity using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers was assessed in forty eight Indian potato germplasm. Twenty RAPD markers amplified a total of ninety-one different loci that exhibited 82.30 per cent polymorphism among 48 potato germplasm. The PIC value ranged from 0.27 to 0.55. All the loci amplified by the primer which were found to be polymorphic varied in size from 1500bp. The Jaccard’s similarity coefficient was found to vary from 0.22 to 0.87. The maximum genetic similarity (0.87) was found between Kufri Badshah and Kufri Khyati and lowest (0.

This study was conducted to have basic information about the genetic nature of variation present in the clonal population of sugarcane. For this mean, range, genotypic coefficient of variation, phenotypic coefficient of variation, broad sense heritability and genetic advance was calculated using 144 sugarcane clones along with five standards in augmented block design. All the clones were differed significantly for all the 13 traits indicating that sufficient amount of variability was present in the experimental material.

Mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation deficiencies are due to genetic defects in enzymes of fatty acidb-oxidation and transport proteins.Genetic defects have been identified in most of the genes where nearly all types of sequence vari-ations (mutation types) have beenassociatedwithdisease. In this paper, we will discuss the effects of the various types of sequence variations encountered and review current know-ledge regarding the genotype–phenotype relationship, espe-cially in patients with acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiencies where sufficient material exists for a meaningful discussion....

The ability to distinguish individuals from events (e.g., hospital admis- sions) is a key feature of a cancer registry. Thus, the registry should have sufficient information on each individual to avoid multiple registrations of the same subject. The most universal and generally used identifier is the name. The utility of using names will vary depending on local cus- tom. For instance, surname (or family name) may not be used—persons may be known only by their first name. Individuals may change their name when they get married or for other social reasons.

Variations in oral health practice patterns reflect several factors (1;3;22). First, oral health screening and referral are not routinely included in prenatal care. Second, many oral health professionals are hesitant to treat pregnant women. Third, while most children do not visit a dentist until age three, these same children usually have visited a child health professional 11 times for well-child visits during the same time period. Although there are gaps in knowledge, there is sufficient evidence to recommend appropriate oral health care for pregnant women and young children.
