A study was undertaken to evaluate the efficiency of phosphatic nano fertilizer under pot culture trail. The experiment was conducted during the summer 2017 to know the effect of different levels of nano and chemical phosphatic fertilizer on NPK nutrient (Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) content and uptake by pearl millet crop in Vertic Ustocrepts medium black calcareous soil. The experiment was containing control with seven different treatments.

An experiment was conducted on plot number C-10, Agronomy Instructional Farm, C. P. College of Agriculture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar during summer season of the year 2012 on Loamy Sand soil. Four hybrids viz., GHB 732, GHB 744, GHB 538 and GHB 558 were taken under study. Grain and dry fodder yields were significantly higher in case of hybrid GHB 558 as compared to GHB 744, GHB 538 and GHB 732. Similar response trend was observed in the growth attributes viz., plant height at 60 DAS and harvest, total tillers per plant.

A field experiment was conducted during summer season of 2018 at college farm of N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari, Gujarat, to study the effect of integrated nutrient management on summer pearl millet under south Gujarat conditions. Two levels of manure (no compost and vermicompost @ 10 t/ha), three fertilizer levels (no RDF, 75 per cent RDF and 100 per cent RDF) and two levels of biofertilizer (no seed inoculation and seed inoculation with Azotobacter @ 2 ml/kg seeds) were compared.

The earlier released hybrid GHB 558 and latest released hybrid GHB 732 become susceptible to downy mildew disease. Though recently released hybrid GHB 732 is popular but it is susceptible to lodging because of its thin stem. However, in view of versatility of downy mildew fungi for its changes in virulence, farmer based choice differences in different pearl millet growing area of the state and to diversify the genetic base of cultivated public bred pearl millet hybrids. There is an urgent need and demand for a medium duration kharif hybrid with downy mildew and lodging resistance.

This investigation was carried out to study combining ability along with inheritance of grain yield and its component traits in 100 hybrids of pearl millet which were generated through line x tester mating design using 5 male sterile lines and 20 restorers as parental material at ICRISAT, Hyderabad during Summer, 2018. These hybrids were evaluated in randomized block design with 3 replications in 3 environments during Kharif, 2018 at Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Durgapura (Jaipur).

A field experiment was conducted on loamy sand soil of Anand (Gujarat) during summer season of the year 2017 to study the effects of multi-micronutrient mixture on growth, yield and quality of the pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.). The soil used for the experiment was alkaline in reaction with low in available N and high in available P2O5 and K2O. With respect to DTPA-micronutrients, Fe and Mn was deficient, while Zn and Cu were sufficient in status.

Present investigation was carried out to study combining ability along with inheritance of grain yield and its component traits in 50 hybrids of pearl millet which were generated through line x tester mating design using 5 male sterile lines and 10 restorers as parental material at ICRISAT, Hyderabad during Summer, 2018. These hybrids were evaluated in randomized block design with 3 replications in 3 environments during Kharif, 2018 at Agricultural Research Station, Bikaner. In results, both GCA and SCA variances were found significant for majority of characters.
